I've never kept track of how many are blooming each day, but I can tell you today it's nine, most of them with thrip damage. I gave a systemic to most of my red and purple daylilies, so the thrips have moved to the other colors.

APPLIQUE, looking pristine

MAYANS' DAWN - This isn't thrip damage because it got the systemic. Because the buds start opening a couple of days before they bloom, this one may always be splotchy here in the land of heavy dew. At least it looks great from about 8 feet away!

I have not kept up with how many blooms because I have so many Flore Plenos and so many new other plants, it would not have meant much.
Theoretically, it would have been easy to keep a count because I have been deadheading all the blooms and pulling all the distracting yellow leaves every morning. In reality however, I probably would never be able to keep a count in my head because I get distracted too easily and would forget the count. Whistling

I have a few day's worth to share. This has been the best season I can remember since we moved to S.C. Lots of pods growing. Yesterday I was crossing and saw a deer not 20 feet from me, just standing there. Even when I yelled at her she just looked at me. Time to spread more milorganite!

Yesterday I went to Singing Oakes for the annual Jeffcoat sale. I surely did miss Jim who died last year.

These pods are from B.J. and Ed. I was amused to see how many colors they had.

There is certainly no picking a nice flower from that bunch because they are all spectacular. I do really like all the larger ones as they are always my favs.

Came home today to find this splashy bloom.
(Trying to find out who it is)

Update: Found out this is 'Flore-Pleno' named by Stout in 1917
and has existed for thousands of years.

If it doesn't set seed its Kwanza (Fulva).
If it does its Flore Pleno.

We had a long thread before on trying to tell the difference in the two that is the first I have seen mentioned about the seed.

Kwanza is a Triploid, I think it takes a thousand tries to get a seed. (If I remember right)
Flore Pleno however has made 10 daylilies, it is a diploid. It sets seed.

We had a long thread before on trying to tell the difference in the two that is the first I have seen mentioned about the seed. " Hemerocallis fulva 'Europa', H. fulva 'Kwanso', H. fulva 'Kwanso Variegata', H. fulva 'Kwanso Kaempfer', H. fulva var. maculata, H. fulva var. angustifolia, and H. fulva 'Flore Pleno' are all triplods that almost never produce seeds and reproduce almost solely by underground runners (stolons) and dividing groups by gardeners" That is from Wikipedia, but one of the few sources I can find about seed.
Edited to add one more source:
