It really must be a good grower if we all have some. She wasn't registered very long ago. That makes me really happy because I think a large clump of Lady Leigh will be gorgeous!

The last garden our group visited was Will Plotner's Wildwood Gardens. I think he has been on all three convention tours that I have been to in Oregon. This one and the last one for sure. Will has been hybridizing since 1979. He has been very active in the American Iris Society and also SIGNA. He has served as president of SIGNA for 11 years. The last couple of years have been hard ones for him. He recently lost his wife. That he was on the tour at all is a testament to his dedication to the world of iris. Most of his plantings were not the usual two or three year clumps. Still, things were blooming. He did have heavy rains the night before and they took their toll on the blooms.

It was also the last garden on the last day. We were all pretty irised out. Looking to name an iris that I got the wrong name on I realized that my wife got pictures of iris I didn't see and I got pictures of iris that she didn't see. And it was a very small planting. That's the way of these conventions-"been there, missed that".

His mailbox made a logical first picture. No ambiguity about what garden we are in.

The iris are always the first priority (except coffee in the early mornings).

Here are the iris that I found blooming.
Looking at my wife's pictures I realized I missed a bunch.

After I thought I had taken all the iris I went further back on the Property.
With all the heavy rain, it was a muddy mess, but beautiful.

As we say goodbye to Wildwood Gardens, that brings us to the end
of the garden tours of the AIS 2015 National Convention.
All that is left is the final banquet and awards.

Will's garden was your last garden of the Convention tour and my first one! Yes, we all took different photos which is a good thing. I tend to be a little hesitant on taking photos at the first gardens and pick up speed as we move through them. Instead of getting "irised out" or tired I get "iris greedy" and want more and more photos! I am glad that Will was on the tour as each host has a uniqueness to his garden. I am so ready to go back! I NEED more iris photos. It is so much easier to take photos than to be out in the garden replanting! Although next spring I will be glad that I redid my iris plantings.

Carl, just an FYI, Iv'e been importing some of your lovely shots into the database and came across a couple of errors:
On July 9 you have an orange one labeled as Tall Bearded Iris (Iris 'Got the Power')

On June 18, Miller's Manor Gardens, above Urban Cowboy, you have one labeled as Tall Bearded Iris (Iris 'Teasing Tiger')
On June 20, Mid America Gardens I to O, you have a white with yellow edges labeled as Tall Bearded Iris (Iris 'Magic Word')

Sue, I looked at July 9th and found an orange iris after Got the Power but it's labeled Great Balls of Fire. Is that the one you meant?

I checked out my pictures of Magic Word and it was apparently mislabeled in the garden. I don't know what it is so I'll remove it.

The one mislabeled Teasing Tiger is Mikey's, so you will have to have her deal with it.

You're confused? I get confused trying to find the pictures you are talking about. There are so many pictures. Thank the stars that you referred to them by date. It still took me ten minutes to find three pictures.

It's in this thread Mikey http://garden.org/thread/view_... just below 'What It's Worth'. And just a few images down from there you have the correct Teasing Tiger.

Actually, in that same post you have the same image and it has it's correct lable:

There, mystery solved! I can just delete the incorrectly labeled one. nodding

I was scanning through this thread and saw that no one responded to Zazinnia's question of the variety of this fabulous maple.. I believe it's an Acer rubrum 'Vanity'.
