Nice pictures, But the one labeled Desert Moth is not corrects. It looks like another Keppel though, can't remember the name, but I think it's related to Haunted Heart.

I don't know if I missed it but can I ask what camera you are using @Mikey and @coboro?
I know I loved taking pictures in Oregon when I visited a nursery and Schreiners a few years back as the overcast skies were great for the lighting.

I'm so glad you said that Tom -- I was about to double-check the database before saying the same thing.

I love Karanowski's Seedling 0500 -- that's just gorgeous!!! Lovey dubby

Barb -- I agree -- Mikey is obviously very talented in the photography department!

OK Desert Moth coming out and thanks! That is a bad habit that I have - NOT checking to see if the photo matches the tag that I took. I use a Nikon D40. It is an old model that is discontinued now. The lighting was perfect in Oregon - overcast days so no harsh shadows!

Believe me - no one wants to see my garden. I have a small house with a small yard that is not landscaped. I have plants put in here and there that have been given to me by people that I know or that have sentimental value. I still have 2 geraniums going that came from my Grandma and she passed away in 1970. So I get attached. The grandkids have outdoor toys all over the place. But the irises are pretty when they are in bloom and the yard improves ever so slightly every year. If I live to be 125 it should be in good shape!

I do so enjoy this group! Thank you!
Mikey

I know about the small garden thing Mikey! I lived in San Jose, right on the border of Milpitas for most of my life. Tiny city lot but I packed it with plants that looked like a jungle. When hubby retired in 2010, we sold the house and moved north to Sebastopol, by Santa Rosa. Brought about 600 potted plants with me! Blinking I have 1/2 acre to play with now, and it's plenty! Probably the older I get, it will be too much. nodding

Sue, I've seen your garden and it's gorgeous!

As for planting the 95 rhizomes last weekend...I'm still feeling the effects. At least the beds
were ready for planting - no digging to speak of. I didn't want to get behind - and the bonanza
of a big box surprised me. More to come this week and next.

The photos give a lie to the question, 'iris, the yellow one or the purple one? doesn't it. or really don't they.

Great photos, Mikey. how long did you stand there waiting for the spuria to open? Or is it three different flowers?

Sue, my wife and I also use the Nikon D40 body. She and Mikey have the Nikon 18 to 200mm lens. I have two cameras, one with the Nikon 18 to 50mm kit lens for garden shots, clump shots and closeups that are easily reached. I use the Nikon 70 to 300mm lens for distant closeups. I have to be 5' back with that lens, but it works well in the iris garden.

Carl, have you ever seen me stand still for a photo? Click and move on I say. I was lucky enough that day at Aitken's to have all the different stages of blooms on a clump. I thought that it was cool and I could not decide which that I liked better so I took everything - greedy iris photo person that I am!

Those pictures are wonderful, Mikey. What a gorgeous place. It staggers my imagination that someone can conceive of such a beautiful arrangement of trees, plants, water and whimsy. Thank you so much for sharing.
