Cindy, I love your picture of the poly Open Hearth!

Over the last few days, I've captured a bunch of pictures of my blooming daylilies...

This first one is a seedling I got this weekend along with a bunch of other daylilies, so I forgot what she looked like. Today, she put on quite a show and now I am smitten all over again!

Looks a lot like Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Autumn Red')
This time of year the blooms are color faded when the open, on my fans anyway...

Have a great day all! I tip my hat to you.

shive1 said:Claudia, Karen, Cindy, and Leslie - Fighting Fire has just been fabulous. I bought only one fan, and it quickly split into four. It's reblooming right now on a scape with 20 buds. And more scapes are on the way. It is definitely my favorite new one, and possibly my favorite of nearly 700 I grow. It's too bad the hybridizer's photo doesn't show the true red color. It's an outstanding red that can really take the heat. There has not been one bad bloom. And that's saying a lot considering how much rain we've had and my on again off again thrip problem.

That one just may have to one the want list. I just love reds!

Cindy - Your Larry's Ob. doesn't have much of an edge, but at least it's not splotchy and it has super color. I like your Harmony Ruffles and Evermore Lights too!

Dogs - That black red seedling looks like a winner. Is it a tet, and does it have a large bloom?

In my garden, the earlies are through, and MLs and Lates are taking center stage.

Rob - Thanks so much for the thumb and the acorn. I'm hoping "Valentine Sweetheart will develop good enough stats to register. At this point - 3rd year - it has 15-16 buds and a 6 inch bloom. It's in a too-crowded seedling bed that no longer gets enough sun, so scape height varies from 23-26 inches. I had hoped to get it in an evaluation bed this spring, but weeks of rain and weeks of killer heat prevented that. I'm still hoping to get my raised beds built before fall.

Debra, Your clump shots are a real treat and Fighting Fire is the clearest red self and just stunning . I know you must be thrilled with your seedling.

There are so many cv's which I've never seen before; Grimhild, Zachary Hickey, Chaotic Symmetry, WB Granny's Bonnet, Downriver Butterfly and quite a few others. It's a real kick to see what everyone is growing. I wonder every morning when I go out to see new beauties if all of you are walking your gardens at the same time. We all come here to report and wonder what the next day brings.

The hybridizer told me the parentage this weekend but I had to email her and ask for it again, so hopefully I will know more soon. It is almost undoubtedly Tet because that's all the hybridizer really crosses anymore. (In my garden, I've dubbed the daylily "Becky's Curls" just to identify her.) She's on the tall side--maybe 40" (I haven't measured yet)--which probably makes her my tallest. Tall is not a trait I'm hybridizing for, but I had to have her anyway. I'm glad you like her! Smiling
