Hemlady said:My Free Wheelin decided, along with about 6 other daylilies, that it wasn't going to bloom this year. I think the hard winter we had is the reason.

Two winters ago was so bad i lost all 3 Rose bushes in front of the house. One of them was at least 10 years old. All my daylilys bloomed except one and i think because it was such a small start and by next year it only had 2 small fans.
I have had others like Always Afternoon bloom their hearts out one year and almost die out the next. I ended up moving it to a place of less honor on my property and it did really great and is blooming now.
Hope you have a ton of plants and those six are a low percentage of what you have.

She is working for green throats and uses a lot of Shooter plants. Hurray! Hurray!

@bluegrassmom, Teresa, we may have crossed paths if you went to Laura's open gardens! I went to Laura's garden a few weeks ago on June 27th when she had open house. She is also a member of the SWIDS (Southwestern Indiana Daylily Society) that I belong to. I went in the morning and was there from about 9 until 11. I had hoped to make it for the evening picnic, but my grandson's birthday party was the same day.

I took several pictures of her garden and was in awe of her seedlings. I think she said she has something like 700 named cultivars. Her raised beds made me wish I had mine like that.

Here is a picture I took that day:

@kssmith, Kevin, you wouldn't have happened to live around Lynnville, IN at one time would you? I used to know a Kevin Smith. I do not know what your signature daylily is, but is it your avatar?

@bluegrassmom, Teresa, I use Adobe Photoshop 13.0 (a gift from my kids) to crop and edit pictures, mostly crop. I saw it at Walmart for around $50. I like to take my pictures using the largest file size available on my camera, so I do need to resize the picture or it takes too long to upload to the site. I like to let my camera do the hard work because I don't like to edit the colors or contrast too much. Over processing makes a photo look just that. But at times, some of the white and yellow daylilies can really look washed out in the sun, so I do use Photoshop to darken them sometimes.

Here is a before and after picture of H. Parfait that I edited with Adobe. Right or wrong, I like to make my pictures look better without over processing. I don't think that I'm exaggerating the true color of the bloom. If I had changed the aperture setting on the camera, it would have looked like the second picture and all I would have to do is crop.

Today I took a friend to the Western Ky Botanical Garden. We started early which was good. It has been up to 94 and so humid. I took a few shots but the sun was out and wasn't good for pics. They have a collection of 500 cultivars, plus seedling it is an AHS Display Garden.

We started off with a large planting of shastas.

Yes i guess its my avatar and not signature. No real guesses so its Heal Thy Spirit. I have lived in Fort Wayne most of my life but spent part of my childhood in rural Wells county 4 miles outside of Ossian. IN. There are so many of us i had 2 other Kevin Smiths just in my high school graduating class. My only hope is all of us be law abiding citizens so i never get blamed for something i did not do.

So many beautiful pictures have been posted. It's like a daylily feast!

Going back through the 2015 folder of daylily pictures, I found that I've taken over 4000 pictures of daylilies since the end of May when they started blooming. That's waaaay too many pictures, Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing ! But here are a few of my favorite pictures.
