Love the little bird! I want some! Where did you find it? I can't ever find anything like that around here, not even at yard sales and such

Sandi, the dollar store near me has lots of birds from time to time.

This one was on glazing ball but the recent haboob (horrid 3000 ft high dust wall) knocked it over so she's waiting to be glued back on.

I pulled my birdhouses in to repaint them this past spring and have never gotten around to it. Looks like maybe I don't need to.

Nay, they need it. I'll post as I get them done.

Guess when I'm in the "city" I'll have to start checking the dollar stores! Thanks for the info Becky! I have 3 bird houses that I put up last year, and then changed one of them out this year for a different one, so will have to get a picture of them for you all. Mine aren't nearly as impressive as the rest of you gals though,
Debbie, I understand completely. I bought a butterfly house this spring at a yard sale that needs painting too, and it's still right here in the house, waiting for me to do something with it But now I think I might just leave it, as I kind of like the old weathered look. Does anybody know, how do the butterfly's like them? Fresh paint or no??

I hang some birdhouses in the trees, some just sit on the ground among plants or atop stacked pavers.

These are all in the house, I still have two more boxes to un-pack,

Mine aren't all that fancy but the birds still love them, so do the tree frogs. These are some that I have outside.


This one is in need of a little repair, but it will wait for winter because there are baby Bluebirds in it and I don't want to get to close, mama is dive bombing me .


The one in the middle is another my DGD painted for me. I haven't got any of these in trees yet, some of them have frogs in them. I keep trying to get a pic of one but they aren't cooperating.




I have 3 more boxes of outdoor birdhouses yet to unpack and hang. It's just way to muggy and hot to go out and work.

Oh my goodness Robin ... you have a wonderful collection! I love the wall mounted metal one in your second photo! And, I'd love to find something like the garland of B'houses hanging near your kitchen ceiling! The one your DGD painted is adorable, love the color combination! Some of yours look very similar to a few I have packed away.

I'm sure feeling the birdhouse joy! Robin, you really have an amazing collection! Wait till later when it's cooler to unpack the rest and surprise us here!

Primitive Faux Birdhouse recipe:

Take one faded or bare wood birdhouse
Spray or brush any color of paint on the house and a second color on the roof
Wait one day.
Sand a lot of the paint off.

'Primitive at it's best!!!

I love they are very cute and I prefer to say love worn insteat of weather worn, but I do know what you mean I didn't take pics of all the ones that look to be falling apart. When we moved here I brought them with me in hopes of one day fixing them. I also left about 10 birdhouse at the last house because they already had birds starting to nest and I just couldn't dis-place all those little momas.

Good recipe Becky. One good thing is here in the heartland we don't have to wait long for them to look primative.i love that 2 story, too.
