More like 30" for me ... a great rebloomer, one of the first to bloom, and I often still have scapes and blooms when hard frost hits.

I'll always grow this one. Not the best photo, but it shows the high bud count and color.

Nice thread idea, Teresa. Lots of great older dl's listed!

Linda, Agnes Shumate sounds like a must have.

One of my favorite oldies is Lady Neva, (Alexander-Moody, 1970). It is just now in peak, so I love the late season blooms. A few scapes will lay over because it is so tall (about 48"-54") actually taller than the registered height of 42', but for the most part the clump supports all the scapes.

Thumb of 2015-07-18/blue23rose/500d8e

Other favorites:
Parfait - tall and trumpet shaped, not a rebloomer though.
Buttered Popcorn - Just a great midseason bloomer.
Russian Rhapsody - nice, strong 30" scapes. Supposed to be a rebloomer, but I haven't seen it. I don't get a lot of rebloom.
Apple Tart - a nice red that is just now peaking. Have not seen rebloom.

I've grown partial to the tall ones that bloom well above the foliage, so that is what I look for. As long as I have enough late bloomers, I have given up on getting rebloom. I just don't see it much at all in my garden.

Vickie - I really need to get Lady Neva! Every time I see a photo of it ... it puts a smile on my face. I don't know if you are aware, but several of those you listed have been tested by some universities for good rust resistance and are listed in the ATP Plant Database as rust resistant. You've got some good ones that should have beautiful foliage here in the humid south for anyone interested to read more.:

I was waiting for someone to bring up the rust issue, seems I dwell on it a lot. I have noticed that most of the posts here are from 7b and cooler and a lot of the favorites up there are listed with poor rust resistance, great where rust is not a concern. I was wondering why so few posts from further south and it dawned on me that most daylilies down here have bloomed out but should be on rebloom. However, I would love to encourage lists from the zone 8-10 rage they don't have to be in bloom at the moment, I know there are lots of daylilies that perform great that are growing in gardens that don't have a rust rating of 1.0 or any rating at all.
I sure do need some lists of those types of plants, old cheap daylilies that put on a great performance every year and show good resistant against rust, especially those that are not listed that way.
There are quite a few that I have been pleased to see posted that do have excellent rust resistant ratings as Becky pointed out, and I think I have added nearly all of them to my garden this year. I still have twelve spots available that I would love to plant this October so please keeps the lists coming.

Becky, thanks so much for that link! I have not paid too much attention to the rust in my garden until about 2 years ago. We had such hard winters the last two years, I really thought the rust would be gone, but alas, it is not. I am wondering if it is because the rust is living way down deep in the crown as a lot of my daylilies need to be divided. Many that I bought 6 years ago have never been divided. So this year, I am sorting and giving away to friends and neighbors.

Vickie - You know if you do have large clumps, I would think it could be a possibility that the rust is indeed surviving hidden in some of the plant tissue. But I am no expert. If you ever need to divide Lady Neva, I'd sure be willing to take a fan or two off your hands! Whistling Thumbs up

All these came with my inherited Garden of Surprises -
Some I have been told are not Daylilies -
Bonanza I really like -
The Pink/Salmon is 'Winsome Lady', I think -
Even though ''Kwanso'' is said to take over - it hasn't - blooms longer than any others -
Yellow one -- not sure of name -
Red - have been told it is "Prairie Wildflower'' -

Quite a lovely collection you have, Peggy! I, too, happen to appreciate Kwanso. It is a great daylily if it isn't invasive in your area. I tried to grow it here in FL and it only lasted 3 years and then was gone. Not sure what happened. Root knot nematodes perhaps?

Oh my. I have so many oldies I would never want to be without.
Some have already been mentioned. I'm waiting for the mailman to deliver my new hard drive so I can upload this years photos. So I can't share this years pics yet. But here are some of my favorites.

Alabama Jubilee - Wonderful color that screams at you across the garden

Always Tomorrow - Long blooming and big beautiful blooms

American Indian - Another wow, look at me color that stands out.

Amnor - A big bright yellow bloom that often polys.

Blueberry Breakfast - Yum! Packed with buds.

Breathless Beauty - One of the prettiest Reds I grow.

Caldera - A huge bloom that polys more times than it doesn't.

Caramba - Another beautiful, huge bloom. Lots of buds.

Cat Dancer - A small bloom but lots of them.

Coleman Hawkins - Big blooms, bright beautiful color.

Concorde Nelson - Gorgeous pink UF.

Cranberry Candy - Large bloomer that often polys.

This is just some of my favs from A to C
With over 900 cultivars, I have many, many favorites.
I need to reduce the number of plants I grow, would love to get down to around 500, but there are so many that would be so hard to part with. Smiling

Joy, you have so many beautiful ones! I was going to list Alabama Jubilee as a favorite, then Blueberry Breakfast, then... oh well they are all so stunningly beautiful, I just love all of them.

Debra, your clump shot of El Desperado is gorgeous! I've seen pictures of this one a lot of times and it always impresses me how it creates beautiful bouquets Thumbs up

I agree Some classic beauties!!!

Joy - It seems more times than not, when I go to the Daylily Database to research cultivars, I often see your photos. I was wondering how many you grew! Thanks for sharing that info with us all. You've got quite a beautiful HUGE collection of old and new ones! I want to walk your garden, too!!! Lovey dubby Thumbs up Big Grin
