Welcome Pat!! We are just as happy as you that you are here too!!! What are your garden passions?? I love tropicals and almost live where they will survive all but maybe 2 months of the year and those tend to be the longest 2 months of the whole year. LOL!!! Can't wait to hear your stories!!!

Besides being a total sponge to get knowledge lol, I really wish to have most or all my plants be hummingbird friendly. Maybe post a sign saying, "Hummingbird Pitstop" Hilarious! Tropicals sound cool, I really like 'outside the mainstream' type flowers, like monkshoods. Bizarre and beautiful flowers, I love 'em Big Grin

Problem is, I have a lot of plants, and only so much space lol. My garden is on my balcony of an apartment complex:

I may in time post my pic, but love posting my plants and my favorite birds and insects. I actually saw the first praying mantis in my garden yesterday, my favorite insect. It's cool that they make their way all the way up to this second story location Hurray!

Hello from Eastern Tennessee. I have been growing houseplants for several years and at times my interest has waned a bit. Just got a new surge of desire to grow some of the great plants I have had in the past. I just ordered or purchased the following: Moonlight, Black Cardinal and Gloriosum Philodendrons and Alocasia Black Velvet. Still on the lookout for the "Black" Maranta, Anthurium Crystallinum, and the Calathea Makoyano. If anyone knows where I can find them I would appreciate a heads up. I am a sponge for information so I am so looking forward to learning a lot and enjoying the comraderie.

Welcome Dave!!! Glad to have you join our merry group!!! I grow a lot of tropicals but none of the ones you are looking for. Have you tried Logee's, Gardino's or Top Tropicals Nurseries to list a few of my favorite online nurseries.

Logee's has such a great selection.... I just wish they weren't so outrageously priced. I do have to admit, I have yet to get a bad plant from them, however.

Hey y'all! I'm Peggy, mom of many (2 kids, 2 dogs, and a bevy of houseplants).
I'm from Florida, but have lived in Ohio for the past 8 1/2 years. Love it here! Hurray!

I just found this website today. I was googling about some issues with my hostas, and - bam - here I am!
I look forward to getting to know y'all and learning about our wonderful world of plants.

Hello everyone! I am hoping I found a place to share my nuttiness. I really enjoy calatheas, although they are a challenge (I confess to have shouted "What do you want from me!?!?" to several individuals, before they slipped quietly away into compost). Here is a picture of my precious, my pride and joy, "Pink aurora". This poor girl was purchased for $6 years ago, and I tortured her for years before I realized what she needs to be happy (and subsequently spent quite a bit more on a nice terrarium and companions). Pardon the picture quality, I'm no photographer and she is in a fish tank after all.

I'm looking forward to learning a lot here!
