Obviously not lilies from seed planted this year. How old are they, and what kind of white marker are you using that seems so permanent?

We are 9 days away from spring, yet, the candidum is 6 inches high in growth,.,.the smaller seedling pots never completely died off,but as the warmer weather strived so did the growth in the pots,.,.very good signs.. and ive just planted another 10 seed,.,.everybody here is wanting candidum, seeing as it seemed to disappear during the late 90's,,.luckily i had a person ,give me a bulb or 2,,and advised me to- ''grow it away from other bulbs'',.,.[which i did],,''a light sprinkle of lime twice a year and some light nutrition, keeps them happy''- which i do! it will usually bloom in the first 2 weeks of november and such a welcome sight and smell for summer

good morning everyone.

I received these Candidum bulbs from a trade three days ago. This morning, I set out to look for cultural informations and saw that the first thread on this forum is about Candidum.

Is Candidum a virus carrier that is why "it should be grown away from other bulbs"?

I hope that these are the real thing. I checked the Genus Lilium site and the bulb is pristine white.

the bulb 'from memory'[which isnt good] Hilarious! Hilarious! is mildly smooth and shiny white,.,.Candidum is not a virus carrier-quite the opposite-it is very susceptible to other lilium viruses. Candidum is mentioned as far back as the early egyptians,.,.it is truly a lovely lilium and a smell like no other

The bulbs to me are much more fragile that hybrid lilium bulbs. They seem to me a lot more delicate. I have to be extremely careful when I dig them. They start to fall apart if I am not careful.

Thank you both. Look like I am in for a surprise next lily season. Smiling
