You can clearly see from the photo how much better it looks than the 1 from HD even taking into account the 1 from HD is a 1 gallon size. The one from Plant Me Green looks much more robust.

I agree Which is why I will dig the one in the front yard up this weekend and plant the new tree in it's place. I feel bad about removing the little tree from HD, but it will get a good home in the backyard. Smiling

Made it to KY this afternoon!!!
Oh My Word! It's nearly as tall as I am; you can see its height on the fridge.

I'm waiting to open till Sunshine quits circling it. The Wonder Dog is convinced it holds a huge monster but I will return shortly with pictures! Green Grin!

Group hug Group hug Group hug Group hug That seems like a LONG time. I bet FedEx will get it there sooner Natty. I would bet money on that. But even if it takes that long, it's going to arrive in fabulous shape due to the way they package. Thumbs up

I just checked again, and now it is showing the 8th. It will be well traveled by the time it gets here! After it left FL, it went to Georgia, and then it spent the night in Missouri. This morning it was in Kansas! At least it is headed in the right direction!

I just got an update that my order from Oakes has shipped, so I'm guessing it will be here on Friday, or Saturday! Hurray! I look forward to posting pictures of what the fans look like when they arrive, I'm very curious at this point! Big Grin

The complete list of daylilies I ordered from them are:

* Asterisk - which I nearly ordered elsewhere a few months ago but the daylily garden recommended against Asterisk and suggested Jocelyn's Oddity instead; since Asterisk is 'free' with my gift certificate from Oakes, I'm getting it anyway to satisfy my curiosity....and I just got "Jocelyn's Oddity" for a GREAT end-of-season clearance price from the daylily garden that had recommended it to me)
* Ciao - cute name and cute-looking plant! I wanted a shorty.
* Nuit D'Amour - to go in my "Music of the Night"/POTO-themed bed
* Pocket Change - I like the white edges, but I'm worried the picture might not be true to color
* Golden Prize - I picked out "Golden Prize" as my bonus daylily because it seemed like a very fitting bonus daylily when you think about it. Rolling my eyes. Maybe it'll win a 'golden prize' at a local show some year; but either way, it's meaningful because it relates my excitement at having won in our AMAZINGLY AWESOME August NARR! Hurray!

(I liked that my gift certificate was applied toward shipping, too. I thought it would only apply toward the daylilies and I purchased just under $50 of daylilies, so the remaining dollar or so applied toward my shipping costs. Nice!)

Thanks again, Oakes' Daylilies, Dave, and everyone else involved in making the August NARR such a success! Hurray! Thumbs up Hurray! Thumbs up Hurray! Thumbs up

Unbelievable. This box is 48" tall, and Daisy is helping down at the bottom. But back at the top, notice the CM crowding. The pictures aren't the best but I couldn't wait till my camera was recharged so using my iPhone without much light.
Thumb of 2015-09-03/Sharon/731000

So I very carefully cut the strings holding it in place then with help from Daisy and Sunshine gently dragged the pot out of the box; all of a sudden as I pulled the pot over toward the fridge so you could see it better against the white background, SPROING-G-G-G, I heard. This beautiful crepe myrtle is 54" tall. It must have grown those 6 inches on the way here! It's only 6 inches shorter than I am. Bet it just couldn't wait to spring out of that box! Smiling

So beautiful with perfect black foliage just as fresh as if it were still in a garden!
Thumb of 2015-09-03/Sharon/58afaf

Wow! Just Wow! I'm sort of overwhelmed. This is just so incredibly beautiful.
Thank you again to all who were involved; what a treasure!

I'll post another picture as soon as it's planted! Thumbs up

I am so impressed!

I have asked Plant Me Green if they would wait to ship mine until mid October and they said they were very happy to do that. This is such a great company!

Anytime, Natalie. You know how I like to play with words.
Actually another one yelled Sproing-g-g a few minutes ago. I think it's still growing taller in my kitchen. Truth is, though, it was in the back of the plant and I didn't notice that it was bent until it wasn't. This one adds another inch in height.

I'm going to wait till morning light to take pictures of it outside. That way you can really see it.
And I'll have better pictures to add to the Green Pages. Smiling

I'm a fan of laughing, Sharon, so I appreciate your word play! I'm not much taller than you are, so by the time my CM gets here, it may be as tall as I am!

Build up your strength because it weighs about as much as we do, too. And packed so well. I've decided to wait till morning to take all the plastic off, once I get it outside. I wasn't kidding when I said I had to push and pull it, on a slick floor even.

I can tell you do, Becky. I've wanted one of these Black Diamonds since I first saw them. I am just so happy with it. And I'm not exaggerating anything, this little guy is huge and so beautiful, so very healthy. I've received healthy bulbs in the past, just popping with new growth and so ready to be planted, but I've never received a shrub nor any kind of plant that is nearly as healthy and happy as this one.
