Thumbs up That is an amazing looking plant, Sharon! Hurray!

Sadly, for some reason, Plant Me Green does not ship to California or Arizona according to their Web site. Crying

Joy, that is where mine is too! 600 miles south of me! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Isn't it funny that our plants are traveling together? I just love it!

oh no idea yet Sharon! There actually isn't too much room left by that tree, it was one of the first sections I planted.

I found several really cool things at PlantMeGreen. I'm getting a patio peach tree and Lady Banks rose from them when they come in next spring. I had a gorgeous Lady Banks, 15 ft high that had a trash tree growing up in it. I asked my yard guy to get rid of the tree. He got rid of the rose. I got rid of him!

Okay, as promised, I took pictures and I'm going to post them. (Hopefully, I'll remember to take pictures next year when they bloom, too!)

I have to say, I was very impressed with the packaging. If you're looking to order daylilies online as a gift for someone else, this is a GREAT way to do it, it looks very professional and WOW were the roots CLEAN! Not that I mind a little dirt--I am a gardener after all!--but I definitely can appreciate a clean, bare-root plant. And the plants looked pretty green (only one wasn't green-green...but it still looks like it's going to do just fine and pep back up after a drink, so I'm not worried).

Again, if you're looking to give a daylily gift to send someone, Oakes Daylilies is a great option!

The plants themselves were a good size, too! I've been very spoiled this year and have been lucky enough to have almost everyone I order from throw in a few extra fans of what I ordered, so receiving clumps this size was awesome, but not completely unlike my orders from other places; but, yes, I would say there were, overall, a little more generous portions of daylilies from Oakes than other places I've ordered. Not including the little 'sprouts', I received 5 fans each of Golden Prize and Pocket Change, and 7 fans each of Asterisk, Ciao, and Nuit D'Amour. I'm really excited that they sent clumps so that it won't take as long to build up to beautiful, heavily blooming (I hope) plants!

(I have no idea why the pictures won't rotate properly...normally ATP auto-corrects for that, but even my computer is showing them right-side up, so I can't rotate and save them to fix it. Odd.)

One of the greatest things about the order was the tags! They are so professional and I love that all of the plant details are on them (this would have been SO helpful if it had been on my orders from other places). They also twist tie the tag around the plant so that it is *very* secure, which is particularly helpful when I'm carrying multiple clumps around the garden. (In another order I just received recently, the tags weren't secure and kept 'opening' or sliding off of the clumps.)

I'm happy with my order and look forward to seeing the blooms next season!

Thank you, Oakes!

[Edited to fix a couple of the pictures.]

I'm curious to know which daylilies you decide on! Have you narrowed it down, or is the selection pool still wide open?

It will be mostly ones that are red. I am looking at maybe ordering Christmas Wishes, Black Ambrosia, Frankly Scarlet and Chicago Apache. Of course I may change my mind ! Hilarious!

Oakes is one of my favorite places I have been buying from them for along time now and I send some of my family merbers gift certificates for Christmas from them. But I have never got plant's in the mail from oaks. I just live 45 minutes from them and that have a daylily festival every year and we always go. Oaks is very generous they give a clump daylily to each person that goes. Some of the ones I got this year even bloomed. Here are some pictures of this year's festival

Heath - You're so lucky! What a beautiful setting they have, too--just look at the gazebo...and the fountain! Very picturesque.

Linda - that was me earlier in the season, everything I bought was red! I actually just picked up Chicago Apache as an instant buy on the LA recently from someone I was purchasing other plants from. I haven't received it yet, but it looks like a beautiful one. In fact, when I was shopping for reds at an Ohio garden back in July, the gardener told me that if I like reds, I have to come back later in the season and look at Chicago Apache. He assured me I would love it. I went back to the garden only a week later for another round of daylilies and I don't think Chicago Apache was in bloom yet...and I haven't had much chance to go to that garden again, so I never got to see it in bloom insofar as I recall. Rolling my eyes. Oh well, there's always next year. I can't really comment much on the other varieties that you're looking at, but no matter what you choose, I hope you love them! Smiling

The FedEx man just left. I have this amazingly large box sitting in my garage. It's here.:hurray: FedEx man said he enjoys growing plants too. Asked me what I got, and my mind went blank. Couldn't for the life of me think of the words I needed. Confused Hilarious! I just hate it when I lose my words. Angry

I need to take pictures, but won't be able to load them to my pc until I can figure out how to fix a problem. Haven't been able to load photos from my camera all season. Thumbs down

@Natalie please tell me you got yours today too. I think mine is missing her sister. Hilarious!
