On the deck, next stop -- in the ground. Awesome plant, not a single wilted leaf and would you just look at that glorious color! So black it's almost blue.

If any of you have blooms on your trees, would you be so kind as to post a photo of the blooms close-up.

I ask because there were spent blooms on mine and the blooms were a light pink. I hope I got Best Red and not a pink variety by accident.

I was told by Stephanie that the blooms open white, and then turn red. Maybe they were turning when it was shipped.

Thanks, Natalie. Maybe a few more branches will bloom. When I saw the "pink" clusters of blooms, I wondered if I got the right tree cultivar.

Yep, that's the 1st thing I thought of when I read your post Becky --- they start out white so pink would be a natural progression.

Natalie, I just checked, and mine is now in Utah. Bet yours is too. It shows it was in Wyoming before that. I wouldn't be surprised if yours makes it there before mine. It's getting so close to you.
