There are three pictures of this in the Database. All were taken at Mid-America. Look how different the coloring is. Would think that the catalog picture in the middle would be the right one, but????

Those kind of discrepancies are why I search Google as well as ATP to get as comprehensive a view as possible. Sometimes it's a coin toss. Shrug!

Lots of folks got Swoosh as a bonus with the PNW sale last year. Sure is pretty in this image.

Got Starring this year.

Pictures in the Mid-America catalog are always excellent but, as a general rule, catalog pictures are the last ones you probably want to rely on.

While my pictures of Swoosh don't look quite that nice I have to say I was pleased how nice it turned out to be. A pleasant bonus surprise indeed!

I always rely a lot on the iris description on the AIS site. Sometimes along with a photo you have a clearer idea of what the iris should look like. A vendor may say it is a 'fantastic blue iris' and when you read the description it is described as having lavender falls. Shrug!

Hmmmmmmmm, that is a lot of fluffy style arms for a flattie. Makes it look like it has minature standards. Intriguing iris, yes indeed.

I do love flatties. So remind me of the Japanese iris. The new ones like this with the fluffy centers remind me of peonies as well.

Ahhhhhhhh Debra. That is my favorite. If it weren't $35. Sells out quickly too. Some year soon it will be mine!

I have one called 'Flat Broke' but did not like it much when it bloomed. It is in a neglected area now and has not bloomed for two years. There are so many forms of blooms and to me the iris. with three standards and three falls, is unique and I guess I just like that form the best.
