I am becoming more enamored with ruffles, and I don't particularly care for white Iris, but THIS one is stunning. Precise and crisp with just that smidgen of intriguing yellow.

I think they call those songs that invade our heads "earworms". Funny how that happens and song lyrics make for good iris names.

I love white Irises -- and I have several, each for different reasons.

Love the beard on Nordica:
Thumb of 2015-10-26/Muddymitts/352f79

Also love the beards on Mezmerizer, but for a different reason:
Thumb of 2015-10-26/Muddymitts/fa1361 Smiling

And Chantilly Bride because it's such a big, beautiful bloom and enthusiastic increaser:

I also have Immortality -- but it hasn't bloomed here yet. Shrug!

Moby Dick, with it's clean lines and narrow form would be outstanding surrounded by all those ruffled iris Debra.

I thought so, too, when I saw it, Leslie. Great minds, and all that. Big Grin Didn't find it available for sale through a Google search. Thinking about posting a request for trade next Spring--see if anyone here has it. Smiling

I know some one who has it.....but it was just planted this year ! We'll have to see how it grows ?!
You may want to check out some of the other whites, from the Sass family, as they had sveral that were very similar.

You sent me a start of Chantilly Bride this summer, Mary Ann. Thank you! It is doing great and I hope it blooms for me next year. I only have three white TB irises now and they all have their own merits. I have a white SDB and I think I have a white MDB..... I will have to wait and see if the MDB is really white or a shade of cream.

I don't think I have a true all white BB/IB/MTB. I have Jersey Cream which is the closest I get. I do have a white MDB - Snow Maiden (why did I think this was a SDB?).

I added several white TB's this year - Chantilly Bride thanks to Mary Ann, Gudrun thanks to Dave, Florentina, My Beloved, and Forever Blowing Bubbles. I swear I am missing one more.....

Leslie, Snow Maiden was "registered" as a "Dwarf Iris", .......at that time (mid 30's) they didn't have all those 'fancy classes" Sticking tongue out . The registrations were 'amended" on a LOT of iris, later.....MTB's became TB's (and vice versa !)Some "dwarfs" became IB's, some SDB's.....and some , like Snow Maiden, just stayed with the "Dwarf Iris" registration.......it grows (at least for me) in the "SDB-IB" range, and the few vendors sites I have seen it on (very few !) often DO call it an "MDB".....but, it ain't !

the white one I would like to get is snow shoes. It seems to be a hard one to get, guess maybe that it was not widely distributed or maybe didn't sell well or never released/limited release.

Arlyn, I took your suggestiong and looked on HIPS and here on the ATP database at as many white selfs as were listed, Sass and other hybridizers. Still gotta have Moby Dick. The combination of clean colors, no/faint lines, that particular shade of yellow, and the form is perfect and everything else I saw was too off the mark. Smiling

Thanks Arlyn. The database has it as a MDB but I remember you saying it is large for a dwarf, and my foliage is definitely too large for a MDB.
