Kent--I love your seedling with the bright orange beards--certainly would stick out in a row. Not that any of them are bad. Would love to see next year's clumps.

Drooling Drooling wow, I would have to pick them all

Tom, I finally got some pods to set on Ink Patterns this summer that didn't end up being empty. I ended up using pollen from Out Walkin on that cross. They have been soaking and going into the fridge tomorrow.

Tom & Cory..
The parentage of those was 09-88c x 07-189c...09-88c was a new intro this year from Kieth called (High Dessert) it is a (Reckless Abandon) child... the other is a seedling that came from (Tuscan Summer) Smiling Here are there pics

Tom.. Yes I got pods to set with it this year but it's not easy at least for me I did quite a few crosses with it and only got 2 pods... after returning from Keppel's I worked a lot of different Plicata's especially after seeing his gardens it very inspiring and eye opening to think of all the different possibilities that can come from them but so far they have been a challenge for me...The one with the big beards was my favorite of the bunch I kept it and Number 11 second to the last it had good form and I liked the yellow on the falls they were both crossed onto( Reckless Abandon) looking for something unique.

Deb..He liked it too.. I see a stake in the background of it Big Grin to get a stake and to be saved is a big deal in that garden he is tough on them nodding

Rob... LOL Rolling on the floor laughing me and you both

Ken.. That's a fun cross will look forward to those pictures.

Another one of my favorites from Joe is (My Beloved) beautiful flower that I look forward to every spring now and the best pure White flower out today in my opinion. It is proving to be a wonderful parent for him and I was curious what happens when you mix it with different colors if the White would be dominant or would I get a good mix of colors using a wide range of plants. I was surprised because so many of these were similar I think there was 15 or so bloom from the cross which is about half.

Interesting how they all have color on their shoulders. Where did that come from I wonder. The second one has some interesting colors going on. I'm surprised by the lack of ruffles on some. Where did they go? Shrug!

I got High Desert this summer, and a certain iris enabler from Iowa sent Tuscan Summer! I hope they bloom so I can play with the pollen. Smiling

Oh, Brad. Look at all those irises with their hearts a bleeding. I especially love the cool tones on #5 with the warm tones of red..... like a volcano in the ocean.

Yes -- I'm partial to #2. That's a very interesting color on the falls. I love that it has a white rim as well. Lovey dubby

I also like #6 -- the hint of lavender is wonderful with the red beard, and the form is gorgeous. Smiling

Of your seedlings before you showed Keppel's, I love #2, 5 and 8. Love those bright fuschias and grape colors.

All of these pictures are gorgeous. I guess you must have lots of acreage to grow all of these. Beautiful babies.....

Seeing so many amazing individual blooms, I was just considering the rest of the picture as to the plant's growth and presentation of blooms. Lots of plants with glorious blooms have come and gone from my garden (not so much irises, mostly roses and lilies) because of various shortcomings.

Brad, this has me curious if you've seen any stand outs as to vigor and health? ....or any with gorgeous blooms and poor health or notably slow increase.

Good questions Bonnie.

For what it is worth I like #3. I like the form, which reminds me of some Ghio's, and love the blue tinge to the white on the falls. It can come to my garden anytime. I really like the last one too.

Thanks Everybody Big Grin There was some unique patterns there but unfortunately most of these were not very good which was surprising coming from 2 good plants most of these were short buds, or had open standards and couple had horrible spindly stalks that fell over after the 1st rain so I did not find the Blue (My Beloved) I was after but maybe one of the others will bloom in the spring and surprise me.

Debra.. I have been using it a lot the past few years probably have 20 + different crosses with it. My favorite White !!

Tom.. I don't know where the ruffles went in that one was shocked but after I studied (Honorable Lord) it comes from Ledgermain and I think the colors in the shoulders are coming from it and probably the form as well. I did some other crosses directly with it the bloom this year with awesome very unique colors but the form left a lot to be desired.

Bonnie.. Thanks !! and your descriptions are Awesome Smiling I did keep that one and number 6 to work with.

Jane.. I have not had acres to grow these until this year and still have a lot of work ahead of me there but should have plenty of room in the future Thumbs up

Neal.. Yes lot's of pretty faces but few with the total package as far as growth most of what I had increased well my guess would be because they had a greenhouse to grow in and establish a root system before they were planted so while most people are putting 3" plants in the ground mine are month's ahead of them because of this..While it was fun to see them all bloom it was not fun digging thousands of small clumps of unbloomed seedlings and moving them trying to keep them intact Smiling hopefully will never have to move seedlings again until they bloomed Smiling

This next cross was me looking to add pink lines on the falls to (My Beloved) and also curious what would come from (Friendly Advice) it has a very interesting pedigree.
