Passed a tractor going down a major highway today. That's a first there. Wasn't state or county either. Normal seeing them on back highways but not a major highway like that one. Everyone gave him room though which was good.

You know you're from the Midwest, and it's Fall, when the tractors start outnumbering the semis. Ironically many farmers use semis now to haul their crops out of the fields.
You have and use common sense. On another thread on this site I am offering to mail NOID succulents to anyone who will pay postage. One woman (not from the Mid West) responded that she'd take some but first I need to send her a list of what I was going to mail her. I explained what NOID meant. No, I need that list first. I do not want to even pay postage if it something I already have. I'm not mailing her anything. Gene
Oh yes, old joke. Realtor showing a house. Kinda beat up old house. Etc. Etc. (I'm going for the short version here.) Rubber factory to the south, rendering plant to the north, Dog pound to the east, Steel mill west. Hey, but you can always tell which way the wind is coming from. Gene
Gene,
Laughing, she is a head smacker.
ROTFL! Love the joke!
Rj,
Good one! For me the wind carries hog confinement smell, but I have one to the west of me and many to the south. Just across the road are grain bins and when they clean them out in the fall, it STINKS! Since I live on the extreme north end of town, I get to smell everyone south of me burning wood scraps or wastebaskets. I have one burner to the east of me. My neighbor, lol!
For me it's best to know which way the wind is blowing before I toss the bucket of cat litter. I've been pelted with a few grains and I hate that worse than getting a spider on me.
Ginny,
Laughing! Yep those wagons are going to roll here pretty soon.
You know you're from the Midwest when the October skies turn so blue.

You go into a local dress shop and accidentally leave your purse on the counter while in the dressing room and the clerk (who knows you) says "I'll watch your purse for you"
