Chris, of the five, 1.5 yr. old plants, none of them are losing leaves yet and two of them are in bloom/bud. Those five got moved into the solarium a month ago, when we had a week of wet, cool weather. I have 15 seedlings (four varieties) that germinated a month or so ago and they are still on a heating pad, covered with a dome, and in a greenhouse. They are only 1-2" tall though.

Mine is suddenly loosing yellow leaves like crazy, bud the buds are growing. Night temps have not gone below 50, but days have gone from 90s last week to 70s this week, and dry. This is typical for this area at this time of year. I'm thinking maybe time for the greenhouse?

I think you are still okay there Carol if your temps are not yet going below 50F overnight. But you can also start bringing it in, just so the growing condition change is not too abrupt, gives it a chance to acclimate slow and nice.

Can't advice much on the younger ones you have Chris, since I don't grow these two in a greenhouse during winter. But I did observe on 3 smaller ones I used to have their stems still green looking and not like older ones with a brown hard bark cover, they have gone way too dry and died, when I brought it indoors a couple of years ago. I guess I underestimated their need for a bit more moisture while still young.

Thanks Tarev, maybe I should give the two younger ones I got in a nursery trade a bit of water then. They're not near as big as the three old ones I got at WM.

We're doing ok for lows the next two days but then Fri night we hit 38 then 35 and 42 for Sun night then we're back up in the upper 50s for a few days then back into the 40s. I went out today and cleaned out my heaters and tested them. The one I've had the longest worked great but my smaller one would light but not stay lit. Waiting to hear back from Mr. Heater on that one. Of course I just have to wait until the very last minute to check things out it never fails. And I tell myself every year that I'm going to get a jump on things.

It is getting colder here too, we have forecast of 39F tomorrow night. But there is no rain still, just cold. Definitely not Adenium weather so I am glad it is hiding indoors already. My plumeria is still outside though, pushing it as far as it can go, leaves are holding. I guess as long as it does not get cold rain it is still okay, but been keeping it dry, no watering.

That's another thing I don't know what to do with. I've got about a dozen Plumeria seedlings that I started the same time as the Adeniums so they're about 4 months old also. I don't know if they'll go dormant or not either. They're in the greenhouse that warms up the fastest during the day.

Chris, you will want to keep those plumeria seedlings going with bright light, watering when the soil dries out a little, diluted fertilizer (1/4-1/2) monthly, and good air movement. Keep the temperature above 55F at night. It doesn't matter how hot the greenhouse gets. Plumeria love the heat. You might see the lower, older leaves yellow and fall off during the fall/winter, but that should be about it. Next year you can allow them to go dormant.

Wow, 39F and 35F. I feel like that's cold, but then I remember it's almost Thanksgiving! I'm bringing mine in temporarily this weekend when our front comes in. It's supposed to get down to 50F on Saturday. Will be our first real cold front of the season. Kind of makes me feel silly in comparison to y'alls temps, but in comparison, the low tomorrow night is 73F. 20 degree drop. I don't wanna chance it.

Thanks Ken. I figure by next year some time they'll be ready for the 1gal nursery pots I've got. At least I think so. Right now they're just in 3" nursery pots.

Very chilly overnight here..our weather forecasters says it is like our Feb cold conditions. It does feel like early winter cold. Had to run heater at home, and one more round tonight. Winter temps dry run.

I planted my Kuman Thong(Golden Carrot) seeds on the fifteenth. I am chomping at the bit to see them sprout. It is really annoying that I will have to wait so long to see the blooms. I think I might just have to cash in on an early x-mas gift from my husband and order a mature one. I would really like a purple one also. With those two colors the seedlings from them would be a lot of fun. I guess it will be four or five years before that happens though. Rolling my eyes.

Here are some of the babes I pinched. This is one of the most rewarding plants I have ever grown from seed. I love seeing their personalities form.

Mine are full of buds.

Audrey, with the right growing environment, the adenium seeds could bloom in a year lake Kadie's and Ken's. Mine was a little over a year, I gave it away because the bloom is similar to the momma plant.

Thank you! Came from Rinoa (Orient Adenium). Can't wait for spring so that I can cut it. That sounds bad, but I'm excited to get her nice and full with numerous branches.
