It was a compromise Big Grin He really hated that I wanted to put more plants by the windows, so he constructed that one for the smallest footprint possible and not block the windows too much. We saw pictures of the stand online somewhere and replicated it.

Sad I don't think I'm going to get blooms on my hoyas this year. One of my hoyas cuttings had active prickles that bloomed last year, but still nothing this year, not from any of my doc cuttings and not from my two large plants. I'm not a good hoya parent yet. Crying

DND, as long as the peduncles are still there and not dried out, it will still try to bloom. Maybe need more light or warmth?

I don't know. My seedlings get direct light for probably an hour a day, medium-bright, indirect light the rest of the day. I don't think the peduncle is dried out on the one I have, but I am not sure.

Thank you guys. I sure do hope that developing peduncles would continue to develop. All my hoyas are small so i dont thinki will flowers on them any time soon; that is why i am excited on this variegated multiflora peduncle.

MJ, i grow this just like my regular multiflora.

tarev, I'm also wondering if they aren't blooming because of the relatively consistent indoor temperatures. I've read that blooming in some hoyas is triggered by atleast twenty degree differences between night and day temps. I don't know if I want to go to the trouble right now of running them to the basement every night and back up, but it might eventually get to that...

I had no idea there are so many Hoya variations. The different foliage is beautiful. I have 2 plants, a Lacunosa krohniana and a Carnosa compacta...I think. These are starts that seem to be growing very well. I have looked at a lot of plants and it seems these command a high price, $10-$30, or am I looking at the wrong places?

Steve, some hoya variety could cost to some hoya addict several hundred dollars. I have seen it on ebay many times.
That is why i ordered non-common hoya plants from overseas(Thailand). I have an order of 12plants on its way and praying everything goes well.

I fertilized my plants yesterday so hopefully I'll see blooms on my hoyas and orchids again in the not too distant future. Green Grin!

It depends on the hoya DND..I notice with my Hoya multiflora, it prefers to be on the cool side and got to keep it in standing water, if it gets too warm it starts throwing out the pedicels. With my Hoya kerrii variegata, once I have it outdoors in shade, it waits till our temps goes in the low to mid 90's then it makes its buds. Hoya carnosa Krimson Queen, confused me before what it wants, but this year and last year, I noticed, I had to step up watering once temps have warmed up, then it will make a bloom, but still reticent in making new peduncles though, just reblooming on that sole peduncle it currently has.

Do you know anything about hindu rope? Ive had this one for about 2 years and it really hasnt grown very much at all and definitely hasnt flowered. Im wondering if there are any conditions I can change to encourage better growth.

It definitely should be bigger if it's 2 years old. Do you fertilize it ? They like fairly bright light, medium to high humidity and allow it to get almost dry before watering again. The leaves look very dark green, which makes me think it needs more light.

Hello Lauren @Happyhouseplants, I do not grow Hoya hindu rope, but usually it helps to bring them outdoors but still in part shade, so it can get brighter light and better temperature variance.

Now back to my 3 hoyas:
My hoyas are doing great this July, the ones outdoors are in bloom or trying to do another flush of buds: we had a good cool down last week, seems like it really waited for that after our soaring temps the week before that:
Hoya kerrii variegata blooming:

Hoya carnosa 'Krimson Queen' - the solo peduncle is working double time, a 2nd flush of buds

Indoors: Hoya shooting star, finally making new leaves, vine slowly getting longer, while also trying to do another set of buds on its old peduncle:

Hi, I just joined the forum today. I have a love for Hoyas. Had a Hoya for years given to me as cuttings. It grew and I had 3 different potted Hoya plants from it. Then I forgot about them when I was in school and they died. I just got 3 new cuttings from the same original mother plant my other cutting came from. I'm pretty sure it's a Hoya carnosa because of what the flowers look like but the vine and leaves do not look like the carnosa 'Hindu Rope'. Anyways, I'm looking forward to growing my Hoya collection :).
