Beautiful, Debra! Those photos of Constant Companion are stunning; you should add them to the DB.

Glad to hear the staples are out - but you should take things gently at first. Group hug

That is good news that your staples are out, but please take it easy! Constant companion has beautiful coloring. I really like the color combo of the coral drift and blue plumbago. I would like to use my plumbago as background with something, but it does not play nice with other plants. May your home and garden bring you joy!

I am so glad to be seeing color. Not a drop of rain for Oct. Wah wah wah. Hilarious! I AM going to plant some roses next year, you and @Seedfork have inspired me. I don't know what I want yet but it's gotta smell good. Perhaps Double Delight that Larry mentioned.

Glad you got the staples out. I've had patients ask me if the episiotomy stitches would have to come out. I inhale and tell them I really wish you hadn't asked me that. By now their imagination is running wild, how can I have stitches removed down there I'm already in agony! 😨😨I finally give in and tell them no, that would be cruel. 😷 Caution, only to be done with patients I have a rapport with! nodding nodding

What did you mean about plumbago not playing nice with others?This is my first year having plumbago. I had it in my greenhouse bed next to a huge hibiscus. Between the two, they got 7 ft tall and took over the bed. It bloomed all winter and all summer.\, but it's just too big for the GH. Tomorrow I'm taking out the plumbago and taking it to Arizona to plant in my yard. Is there anything I should avoid placing it near?

Karen-- My plumbago sent out lots of long runners, they were coral colored. I used to have quite a few plumbago white ones and blue ones. Tired of taking out runners, I kept just one blue and it's in the back of bed by itself. I find in my garden many plants die above ground during the winter but some keep on growing below ground. It seems like plumbago roots grow year round. Just watch for runners. It was after the third year that it became vigorous. May your home and garden be full of joy and happiness!

Thank you, Sharon Rose. I have the blue, and it didn't send any runners around the GH bed. I had to make cuttings since I wanted more plants. The cuttings rooted quickly. Not much can be invasive in our desert heat in AZ, but I'll watch out for it.

@plantmanager @Altheabyanothername

Could it be that you each have different plants? One is shrub-like (Plumbago ariculata) and the other is groundcover (Ceratostigma plumbaginoides). The groundcover type can be invasive.

Plumbago (Plumbago auriculata)
Leadwort (Ceratostigma plumbaginoides)

Debra-I have the shrubs, or should I say I went down to a shrub. It is plumbago auriculata. They were fine for about 3 years, then they started sending runners. Maybe it was because the plants the plumbago was near, the plumbago received a lot of "fertilizer" or thought the food was greener on the other side. Now it's not fed and is by itself and seems ok. I also use cardboard for weed control and I would find runners under it. I do not put cardboard near it either. May November find you in good health!

We won't discuss the carnage that I caused at Santa Rosa gardens when they had their sale a few weeks ago. Not only echies, but other plants as well. At least I have time to reflect on my madness, they will be sent in the spring. Blinking
