I can eat cilantro in guacamole...that's it! Fennel dies off here, not a problem.....when it's cooked, fennel loses its licorice taste & smell....if you don't like it raw, you can even roast it. Robert....I bought a bulb of fennel the other day.....mixed it with radishes & green olives....wonderful salad!

Smells hot & oily to me....I agree dill has a wonderful scent....I let it grow anywhere it pops up in the garden....love the smell of my mint, too, but it's so invasive....I was already ripping it out from the cracks on my patio.....

I learned the hard way and ripped out too much wandering mint, then bought this wrought iron holder that sits about 3' off the ground.

My set up here in a shelf under the two windows in my home office where I am growing all my veggie seedlings.

Light from the windows plus I have three clamp on fixtures with three plant bulbs. Two of them put out this weird purple light but the plants just love it.

So I was looking at my melons and cukes as I watered today. Those melon Seeds planted 3/24 and the cucumber 3/30. Most of the cukes are popping up today and still only a very few of the melons have made an appearance.

Weather news is saying tonight overnight there is a hard freeze warning. Telling us to bring in our potted plants. Well, I hope my garden peas will be okay as they are outside growing.

It took several days in a row of hard freezing to kill off pea seedlings that had sprouted up in my compost pile last fall...I think yours will be fine. Of course, they are easy-peasy to plant up again if they should fall victim.

Good to know about your compost peas being really hardy. Thumbs up

Yes, I could replant if I had too but my little pea seedlings are looking so good that I just don't want anything bad to happen. Hoping for the best.

Rita, your seedlings look awesome! You could start a little plant business right in your home! Pirl, very smart putting the mint in a pot....wish I had thought of that 40 years ago when I planted all this mint....now, it's there forever! Robert, all I have is snow also.....don't even know if my peas were up before everything just became white......

yup, we picked up about 3.5 inches of snow and the temps are staying low today so melt will be limited. Temps go back up later in the week and the week after, so it will be gone soon.

Marilyn I have no room for a plant business as this one window shelf is all I have room for and can manage. But I am glad that my seedlings are doing so well.

Indoor seedlings are certainly not going outside until we get warm weather again. We had a freeze last night and my turnip seedlings, which I had put outside, are toast. Don't care about them as they were just a test to see how much cold the turnips can take. Well, they can't take a freeze!!

My peas appear to be fine and that is good. Those were the ones I was worried about.

Pansies can probably take a fair amount of cold but not so sure they can take a freeze. Yours look good though.

Tomatoes would be done for even in the daytime sunshine as it isn't even high 30's today. They are happy indoors today.

I may have spoken too soon. We have another freeze warning for tonight so another chance for the peas to get killed. As it is I thought they were okay this morning but I looked more carefully and they look pretty deflated today. Not good.
