Tim it isn't my plant, it is indoors though amazingly, and my friend has had it for several years, I was pretty surprised to see it! She treats it just like all her succulents. I must say she keeps her house a little chilly so that probably helps with this plant. It is some type of calcareum
That actually doesn't look too bad! I think its how it initially looks puts people off! This was a mostly red one, sempervivum hybrid noir. I put it back outside after it turned entirely green and etiolated! it didn't make it over winter! one day I went out and the rosette was lying on the path the rest was all mushy! I didn't know about propagating the rosette back then so I ditched it!
Wow Sy I do like it! Yes they do turn green indoors But all the babies! My friend's is in a west facing large window so lots of light which is why I think the hens aren't etiolating
Also I'm pretty sure she doesn't water often
Julia and Patty reminded me to cover my semps and I still haven't done that And we have had the wettest October on record, oh why didn't I cover them already
I haven't looked yet so maybe it'll be alright!
Lynn hasn't it just been so wet out! Hooray for dry and warmish!
I'll have time Friday to cover the troughs!!
Daniel I have hoop frames that I put together and then cover with clear plastic with the edges well above the trough so there is lots of air circulation.
haha Dreams of semps!! That is when I knew I had a problem, I'd spend so much time looking at semps, live or in photos, that when I sleep I often have them in my dreams now
