yes, collage showing transformations through the seasons all in one photo is nice to see--much easier than clicking on a bunch of photos trying to see when they where taken

I just posted one of Zaubergarten's amazing sempervivum collage photos into the NGA database.
Would you all like to see more of this type of photo in the database?
Yes... more!
Sorry, I'm getting into this a bit late and somewhat confused. How would this go? Just arrange pictures we already have or start taking pictures now and see what we have in a year? How are the collages put together? I wouldn't mind if all interested were given assignments based on particularly interesting cultivars they own and see what we come up with by next Fall. Maybe you better organized folks already have enough pictures to make complete collages now but I sure don't.
Am I over analyzing this? It does sound like a useful project.
My thoughts are that we have this collage from Europe to look at in the database because when we have a discussion on imposters in our collections one then could track the plant in question . My plan is to start taking my sempervivum pictures and putting them in files with names. Then date each picture. That way I have my own comparison.
Julia, that is what I have been doing for some years now. Each photo goes into my Sempervivum database with the name and date of each photo.
Tim, I think we should set some kind of criteria on how the collage should look. Notice how Zaubergarten's collage has all the photos as cropped close ups?
And I really like the way she set the photos up with the breeder information in the bottom center.
Hi all! Terrible weather here atm, its very cold and wet and we've had hail a couple of times too! I had to cover the semps! Luckily enough I don't have many so it was pretty easy to get them covered! Phew...
O give thanks unto Hashem; for He is tov; ki l’olam chasdo (His chesed indures forever).
Hail is the worst, Sy, you did the right thing. I wish I could. Still, the damage is generally temporary.
Back to the collages. Firstly, Zaubergarten is Beatrix Bodmeier on Facebook I'm assuming. She's made like a zillion of those collages. She must have some automated software assistance to do this. Does anyone have any idea what that might be? Or something else we could use to automate this?
