Yes we do still get into a cool down right now, so it is a good transition time for them. I have pretty much learned now to buy plants or attempt new plants in Spring..then nothing more in summer, they will just get toast here. Next attempt period is late Fall.

Oh Cameron, how sad.

Big Grin But the happy part is that it will grow back. And if you find any pieces laying around you can plant them. Hurray!
Wow, that was some storm. Stay safe.

Sorry about the damage Allen.

Just checking if anyone would be interested in trading a small flat rate box of Lydium and/or Ogon for some Oracle, Elizabeth, spurium Tri-colored or Voodoo?

Need to get the sedum bed cleaned up a little before taking photos, but here is the Tri-colored just getting started.

I grow a couple gold sedums that both spread very fast I think this one is Sarmentosum or Graveyard moss.
Thumb of 2016-04-19/stilldew/e4a0f6

This one my mother always called Golden Teardrops. The leaves are closer together then Sarmentosum. I have seen it for sale as Golden Creeping sedum but am not sure of it's real name.

This is another I would like to know the name of. It was bought as Lydium, but doesn't seem to match the database photos. This time of the year it has a brownish tone.
Thumb of 2016-04-19/stilldew/5ab656

Here is a closeup of a smaller one of it.
Thumb of 2016-04-19/stilldew/5035d5 And this is the same even closer.

Moved Blue Pearl into a pot with Angelina and Blue Spruce. It is very brittle and breaks easily for me.

Susan I think the sedum in question is one of the S. album. They are wonderful and tough plants. There are a number of different forms.

Thanks Lynn. Do you know the name of the second one?

Cameron, you will enjoy Lime Zinger. It does really well here. Dazzleberry was one that disappointed me a little, but seems to do well for lots of others. I'd be more than happy to mail you the 3 I posted photos of plus some others. They are all very fast growing. I use the first 2 as ground cover around my other plants. They are so low growing they keep the others roots cool.

Send an order to Simply Succulents for 4 new ones today. Never too many sedum.

I'm glad to hear that about the Lime Zinger one, but now I'm worried about the Dazzleberry one. A few blooms are opening on both plants now. I found pieces of the hail damaged one in between a couple of clay pots and they had attached themselves to both pots and even bloomed. I couldn't believe they were growing without any soil. Hurray!

They really are some amazing plants! They are true survivalists - pretty sure most of these were originally found in alpine terrain which is such rough environmental conditions - cold, windy, dry and then flooding rain, then more of the same!!
I tip my hat to you.

@gg5 I have a new found respect for them. I picked up the little pieces and planted them into soil. I think I'm going to start growing some in very shallow containers now that I've seen how hardy and tough they are. Thumbs up

Here's a picture of my 'Coral Reef' in bloom. It gets no direct sun and we only got to 32 degrees once this winter, so I guess that's why it stays all green. It is getting enough light to bloom though. After seeing how pretty it looks when it colors up, I'm going to try some in a sunnier spot. Do you think that would help it change colors? I can't do much ( or even want to do much) about the temps!
