Just had to share my excitement. I just purchased this amazing 100% poly seedling from Michigan hybridizer, Michael Morri. Stats: mid season, 29", 3-way branching, 24 buds, Dor, Dip.

Wonder if the tet conversion would also have 100% poly blooms?

It's really hard to predict. Years ago I converted Kirchhoff's double, Betty Woods, to tetraploid, and every bloom thereafter was single. As a diploid, it was an exceptionally consistent double, and I can't remember ever seeing it bloom single.

I never bloomed the seedlings from it, so I don't know how it bred.

Barbalee I agree there are many nice dips out but the tets are changing the game Big Grin We'll see if you are still team dips 5 years from now or if you'll join the tet side Hilarious!
Thanks for the info Ken.

I enjoy mucking around in the backwaters, so if dips are no longer in the mainstream in years to come, I won't be disappointed. Smiling

Wow, that is an awesome poly bloom! I wish that I had more dls that would poly a high percentage. Larry, I am never mainstream lol. Funny, I live near a river so I am familiar with backwater. We have had so much rain this year that part of our soybean crops had to be replanted Angry

I have two clumps of this one from Mike arriving tomorrow. Woohoo. Bob Faulkner gave the seedling originally to Randy Griffin and she has shared with a few folks. Can't wait to work with this one.

Sorry about the soybeans.

Maybe we should start a club: Friends of Bob 265. Green Grin!

Daniel, I love your suggestion! I may just use that name for one of my daylilies in the future. I just checked the AHS database, and it hasn't been used yet.
