I picked up another Pothos plant today I found in the reduced section along with others I picked out the best one and its in pretty good shape with nice big leaves. I had to snip off one damaged vine that had some dead torn leaves on it but other than that its pretty healthy, a bit over watered but should dry in good time and no signs of any root rot. I drilled a couple of drainage holes at the bottom so it should be good. I've just got to work out the best place to hang it.

I rescued four Anthuriums last year. They were 50% off and in slightly rough shape. Two variegated A. hookeri, an A. 'Pterodactyl' and A. jenmanii.

They're all quite happy now. I just repotted three of them yesterday. Smiling

I've killed more than 2 of those. In the most simple ways, which is frustrating, knowing I could have done better. When plants die mysteriously, it's easier to take, for me, vs. knowing exactly how I forgot to water or left outside to freeze. Those are the worst moments.

Soon it will be time to pull up my clearance Pelargoniums to see if they'll live through a 2nd & 3rd winter (depending on which plant it is.) I don't usually pull roots like that, just take cuttings of most plants I'm trying to save, but since that's how I did it the first time it worked, I'm going to keep doing that. Such shallow roots, the plants pop out of the ground so easily.

This is the longest I have not rescued anything. I had been avoiding the clearance rack because it is hurricane season and also because winter is just around the corner and usually there are a lot of great deals around that time.

Most of my clearance are thriving but some didn't survive our hot 🥵 humid summer.

I went to my favorite greenhouse yesterday but didn't see any clearance area this time. Probably a good thing though.

I did come home with a little Sago palm, a variegated Euphorbia, two pitcher plants and some ornamental peppers though.

Not sure which one this is, but one is still alive! Sweet potato vines had grown over it and I've been watering that general area but assumed it was dead until I saw the little bit of red earlier. This is a new longevity record for me for this plant - 5 mos!

I've never managed to keep anthuriums alive. I think they require high humidity.

Here's an idea:
It's season end in Michigan. (Happy last day of Summer)
I have a beautiful potted succulent collection and no place to stow for winter, so...
I called the local Mom & Pop succulent nursery and she is thrilled to take my collection for the winter. I don't care if she divides & sells some, saving some for me when I come by next Spring.

Rolling on the floor laughing that is what happened to me today! Honey look my new rescue, tillandsias buy one get one and one has a bloom! And look at that lovely container! I've been wanting to have these but these containers were too pricey. Hubby rolls his eyes and shakes his head.

That looks like a dangerous setup for an air plant. But the air plant look good today. : )

Now that you mentioned it, yes because air plants probably will not like this set up in the long run. I have some I rescued last year and the are doing well attached to my adeniums.

That looks perfect! I have mine on Dracaena trunks, where they branch & form a "Y". They get a lot of light & air that way, and whenever I water the pot, I dribble water on the air plants, just as if it was raining. In the house I use a spray bottle to get them wet at least every-other day since dribbling would not be good on the carpet.

Oops I haven't been watering them, they get rained when it rains but I think they get moisture in the air and assuming moisture from our pond?

If there is Spanish moss nearby, the air is probably humid enough. Mine are not where they can get rained on.

Oh sorry about that. I just got me a concentrated neem oil so I can mix with my watering can. I noticed some root mealies when I transplanted some seedlings so I had to soak them with water with neem oil and dishwashing soap.
