Caroline, this nursery grows their peonies in a field. They pot the up in the Fall and sell them as potted plants in the Spring. They were quite large.
Alex, it seems like the weather influences the colors on the intersectionals. This year our Spring stayed relatively cool. More color stayed in the blooms.

I just bought this as a potted plant and it's labeled 'Hillary'. I bought it because it doesn't look like my other 'Hillary' Hilarious!

New Millenium is gorgeous, well they all are. But I love the way it changes colors similar to Julia Rose but much better form.

Thank you so much for all the compliments. I can't wait to see everyone's blooms.
Here is my 'First Arrival' that I bought from Wayside Gardens in 2009. It has bloomed for the first time this year. Rolling on the floor laughing
Seriously. You wait all these years and then ......not even the right color.

No. First Arrival is red isn't it? That would seriously make me grumpy. I had an azalea that I waited around three years to bloom and sure enough it was supposed to be white and bloomed pink. Oh well, the mice ate it the next winter so no loss. Sad I bought two last year and one died before winter and the other died over winter. Not sure what is up with that as I have another in the Northern Lights series that has been moved multiple times and is still going great. It is a yellow and the fragrance is out of this world.

LG,

Your 'Cora Louise' is beautiful!!!

In 2014 I ordered four 'Cora Louise' plants from American Meadows. Two bloomed as yellow ('Bartzella'?), one failed to thrive, and one has not yet bloomed, so it may actually be 'Cora Louise'. Time will tell.

Where did you get your 'Cora Louise' (just in case my fourth plant doesn't look like 'Cora Louise')?

Thank you!

CS

LG, your mislabel actually looks very lovely. Maybe it's Berry Garcia?

Gray, I really like the crown form on your YUMI!

Sorry to hear about the mislabels that you receive for your Cora Louise. They should refund your money or give you credit for the wrong plants.

Hi CS, glad you liked the Cora Louise. She only had one bud on here even though she's 6 years old. Sad
I bought her from Patadise Gardens, which is owned by Oakes Daylilies. If I were you, I would buy CL directly from a peony grower. I am giving up on resellers.
Alex, it is a soft yellow Itoh, but it didn't fully open today because it was raining on and off all day. I will check it tomorrow.
Gray, your peonies are looking great. Keep posting photos, please.

'Joanna Marlene' Itoh. This is the one I picked up in March at Iris City before it broke dormancy. It has done well.
