Possibly. The one in the foreground looks a solid pink but the others do not.

What does drift from Roundup do to daylily blooms? Anyone know? It's what I thought of when I saw the photo, but I have no experience of that with daylilies. I have seen it in iris.

This looks very much like Savannah Debutante.
Here it is blooming in my garden Monday. The timing seems to fit also; I am in SC and mine just started blooming.

Hello all -- first time poster here! I don't recall ever seeing a poly bloom in my garden before, but today I had two, both NOID's. I had to share!

The first one is an absolutely gorgeous plant -- a warm cream with the faintest brushes of pink along the midrib. I can't even begin to guess what it is. I first became interested in daylilies 6 or 7 years ago and a kind gardener sent me some unlabelled extras for the cost of postage, and I even started some seeds from the Lily Auction. Then a natural disaster and tons of personal disasters intervened, and the forest started taking my garden back over. I'm slowly winning it backā€¦ just in time to move to a new home that only has a tiny patch of sun in the yard. So competition for daylily space will be tight! But that tall cream one is definitely coming with me.

this clump of daylily is not by any others anyhere close by & It is or has been in the same spot now for the pass 6yrs or so. I started out with just 2 fns I think I may have bought it off the Lily action way back just not sure from who its been so long ago usually the flowers are bright like the front one but this season the others look more like a trumpet lily , strange but very pretty up close .

Roundup can downsize an iris bloom and smooth out the ruffles and altogether change the normal form of the bloom. It can alter the color by adding a ghostly white to the primary color and leaving all the edges white. Sometimes the effect is ethereal and the blooms are quite beautiful. But sometimes it's not and the color is just washed out and there is some deformation of the bloom. Occasionally in an iris clump there will be a normal stalk and one that was affected by Roundup - or even a lower bud that blooms normally on a stalk where the top buds were damaged. It's a temporary effect. If the iris is not exposed to Glyphosate, the active chemical in Roundup, the plant will be normal. Chemical drift is very tricky. Wind currents can carry further than would seem likely. I'm just not familiar with how it might effect a daylily at all, but what I see in the photo reminds me of what I've seen in iris blooms. Is there a possibly of some chemical drift that you know of?

I honestly don't know the effect of Roundup on daylilies. I haven't seen any with known exposure. Lots of plants don't get killed by Roundup. Depends on the strength of the mixture and some plants are just resistant. Iris aren't killed by it and the damage mainly shows up in the blooms. I'm not even sure at what stage in the life of a bud the damage occurs. But drift from sprayed chemicals can do odd things. If it's really hot when you spray things, there can be an inversion affect which is also an odd and unexpected event. I think the drift from spraying quite often doesn't actually kill plants that aren't targeted. It can kill them, but I think more often it just leaves damage. Wind currents, plant susceptibility, stage of growth - all might be factors on why it could show up on this particular plant and not on another.

@sooby do you know of any studies with respect to Glyphosate and daylilies?

mom2cjemma, less sure of this one but it may be Sunny Eyes too. Sunny Eyes is about 3" with a high bud count.

I have a patch of Bermuda grass growing right next to Darla Anita and I can't pull it out. I am afraid to spray it for fear of killing Darla. Maybe I will try roundup on the outer edge of the grass to see if it does the trick.
