Lady ruffles. A real eyecatcher. A very deep bloom that is hard to get a good pic of.
Looks better 'in the flesh'.

Steve, you gotta get a longer arm for next year so you can get all of the bloom in the photo. Hilarious!

I agree with Carol. All of the different shaped petals are amazing. Thanks for all the photos.

Carl I need a new camera / ipad /iPhone...or something else I won't know how to work!.
I'm taking all my pics on 2 digital cameras, one is good for smaller pics the other has better colour tones for bigger blooms.
I'll try and get a longer arm.( I've been getting some junk mail / spam possibly from this site, and I'm sure one said something about elongation!).
I just noticed another bud on a Tassel hybrid that has only bloomed once before. It was 8 years ago and a huge pink bloom. Stay tuned for that one!
Here's what it looked like in 2008.

The shape of the buds on Aventine is quite different. So long and narrow and pointed.

They are all so Gorgeous. Ron Ryan, what is the bloom you are using as your profile pic? I would love to have 1 like that.

I am seeing a lot of pics of varieties that I know I have had, that have lost their names, so I am really enjoying seeing those too. Now when mine bloom, maybe I can put names to some of them.

I need to ask Santa for a new greenhouse. Or maybe just some more shelves and lights.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Here's the Tassel cross (with American sweetheart) that I was waiting for.
Very disappointing and is bound for the bin!
Also a couple of others I hadn't even noticed had a bud.

I really like the form of Pink Plumes.

Is King of Yellows really that deep intense yellow?

Hi Carl & Carol,Pink Plumes is a stunning bloom, and the plant is a very good grower.I have had no luck at all with Tassel, which is a similar flower.I have attached a better photo of Pink Plumes, taken in the 2011 season. The plant does have more buds to open,so may even get a better shot.Yes Carl that is the true colour of King of Yellows, however this is the first year it has bloomed for me with the correct shape blooms, previous years the blooms have stayed very much in a cuo form.Cheers, Ron
