Welcome @Kezley.
Nice pictures. Glad you've joined the epi group.

I've been busy making cuttings as well as potting cuttings that have calloused. Still have more to go but ran out of dixie cups that I use for rooting cuttings.
Our weather just took a surprisingly sudden turn tonight. Not going to freeze but the temperature is in the upper 30s. One epi is still outside so hope it will be ok.
And then there's my perennial beds that I should have watered today in case the freeze warning was actually correct. Always something.

@lbartoo - if you've never used one of those small 'greenhouses' before, a word of caution. Be sure to somehow tie or stake it down b/c they've been known to either blow over or blow away. Of course I'm assuming we're talking about the same kinda contraption, especially since you mentioned Big Lots.
Anyway I know you have had your share of wind for awhile.

I have used 1 before and the only problem I had was a tree branch falling through the roof. It was small and went unnoticed ( I was out of town) and I lost some plumeria and a few other things, but never had a problem with wind much. I keep hoping that I will get another real greenhouse before spring, but it won't happen. There are too many other priorities right now.

The hurricane repairs are mostly done, still need to do some clean up in the yard, but the truth is, the yard needed work even before the storm.

Our temps dropped to 39 last night and 37 tonight. I didn't move anything inside, but I think it will be ok. The temps are going right back into the 50's and 60's tomorrow night.

I have 1 late season bud on Ackermanii, Hurray! i am hoping it will open soon. The hanging basket broke and I am trying to wait to repot it until after the bloom has opened.

In the meantime, I am certainly enjoying everyone else's pictures.

I have noticed over the years that I get a lot of a certain coloured blooms coming out at once. To do with the parentage no doubt.
Today there are a lot of purples out.
The first 3 are blooming for the first time here.

@lbartoo - looks like you have the same weather temps as we do. I had brought all of the epis except 2 inside on Thursday. I had been at a garden center and 2 of the staff said that we were due for a heavy rain. Puzzled, I said I had checked earlier and saw 0% chance of rain. Apparently that changed. So I rushed home as it was getting kinda dark way too early. Wanted the epis in b/c they were just drying out after suffering thru 4" of rain a few days prior. So after doing that, no rain.

Then on Friday the forecast had a freeze warning for the whole area (sometimes it's just the 'burbs). But I had a dr appt and then had to rush to buy a gift to take to a party that night and just no time to water down the perennials and mush some of the potted plants together (warmth in numbers). And the 2 epis remained outside. So did it freeze? Nope. Got down to about 39F. Saturday night about the same, maybe 38F. Now the night time temps are going back up. (Days have been in the mid to upper 50s and sunny.)

I hate having all of the epis inside. Too crowded. And I have to keep checking for scale. Our FB group has made me very paranoid. But at least they're the ones who said epis could usually handle temps around 40F. Sometimes I wonder why I became addicted to epiphyllums. Life was easier before.

Becky, I have far too many.
I need to cull quite a few non performers and poor growers and noids as it's getting hard to look after them all, especially with another long hot summer just starting.
My advice to people just starting...be very selective.
Oh... and here's another one out today!

Nice blooms Steve.

That is very wise advice. This is the first post blooming season that I have not taken cuttings. I got close to 800 pots last year. Epis grow faster than you think and take up space. Yes, it was nice to reach 1000 blooms and dozens of different varieties but it now overwhelming.

So now down sizing to have 200 - 300 pots of quality plants.

The blooms are addictive.

Part of the problem for me is that they are so easy to start. I find a broken off piece and plug it in a pot. And it grows. I have no idea what it is, but it grows quickly.

Been there done that! Now I throw the broken bits away - but I'm feeling the urge to take more cuttings having just come out of the greenhouse after watering.

At one point I was using 20ft lengths of rain gutter full of soil to put cuttings in like rows of soldiers about 4 inches apart Worked well until I realized how many pots I would need once they rooted. That was 70-80 cuttings per length of gutter.

They become an obsesson - but better than drugs, drink and TV sports.

Carol, I like Zona Rosa too. I notice today the bloom is a lot darker than it was on the first day.
Nude is another pink that darkens the 2nd day.
Getting very hot now and blooms are slowing down.
