Some lovely epis there Lynne.
Clown sure is a great bloom but I have found it hard to grow. It's always in demand.
I've not seen Royal heir before. Superb. Yellow delight and Kiwi sunshine too.
Today.

Clown 'sport'. I've had this for ages, now a big plant but only seems to have 1 or 2 blooms per season.
Shiny.
Thumb of 2016-12-05/Hillsepicacti/b7317a
Clown x Tassel. Crossed by me in 1995 and first time bloomer. A nice bloom ...but a long wait!

Crenatum. One of the oldest epis and parent of many. Fragrant.
Thumb of 2016-12-05/Hillsepicacti/f2f17d
Slightly sassy. A cross of Ruby snowflake and Tassel. (I have had many differing blooms on this, from dark purple/dark red to orange tones. Usually multipetalled but sometimes not so much).

I think I've spent an hour looking at all the lovely blooms! I don't need another plant obsession, but they are gorgeous. It's cold and rainy here today. Getting ready to cover our hoophouse with plastic before freeze later this week.

Wow! all of your flowers just make me drool. It is cool here and rainy today. Not complaining at all, we need the rain desperately.
Seeing your pics sure makes me want to add a few to the wishlist and confirms that others need to go on the wish list. It might be a good thing I can't grow outdoors year round. In fact it is supposed to drop to 24° F here this week. A Little early for our killing frost, but who knows maybe winter will be short.

Four more out this morning, soon all the epis will be over and then it will be how to get them through the hot summer weather that is predicted.

This is a noid plant, lost the label but I think it may be Beau More, an unregistered Australian hybrid, very nice solid reddish-orange, cup and saucer shape. Lovely.

Thumb of 2016-12-06/Crackle/6f06f4
This is Campfire, opens really wide, pretty. This is the first time it's flowered for me on a small plant.

Thumb of 2016-12-06/Crackle/5d222a
Another noid, bought at an orchid show years ago. It looks similar to Crenatum but there's no fragrance that I can detect. Not on my favourites list, so I may donate this to a friend or the thrift shop at some point.

This is the first flower off a 4 year old cutting from a large plant given to me by a neighbor. The mature plant grows slowly and does not produce many blooms but I think it is just beautiful. I call it Justin's Orange after the gent who gave it to me. I would love to find the true name for it but I have yet to see anything that matches it. Definitely on my favourites list.

My epies have almost finished for the year but there are still a few good uns to go, I hope. Open over the last few days were the ones below, most of them were first time bloomers for me, so that was exciting!

Thumb of 2016-12-08/Crackle/a281be
I think this is Buttercup, still planted in a big pot with lots of others I bought off EBay, very hard to read what name is written on a cutting 3 years down the track. No fragrance at all on this one.

Thumb of 2016-12-08/Crackle/75d8c8
Out of the same pot and looking very similar, but I think this is Crenatum, FINALLY. It had a lovely strong fragrance when it first opened which had all but disappeared by Day 2. Pity. Again I cannot see the label on the plant, lousy eyesight doesn't help any!

Thumb of 2016-12-08/Crackle/78e31d
Out of a different big pot of EBay cuttings was this little beauty, a lovely thing. I do hope I can eventually read the name on this one, it's a lovely shape and colour. I will definitely be propagating this one.

Thumb of 2016-12-08/Crackle/b31ddd
This is I think ULANA Lavender Delight (an unregistered Australian hybrid bred by Tony Hanson), though the label only says Lavender Delight. I thought it was going to open red because the bud was a deep red but thankfully it seems true to it's label, a very nice pink.

Thumb of 2016-12-08/Crackle/68fcbf
This is another little beauty I bought from Steve, called Letty May. Still a small plant but it has flowered three years in a row. Pretty.

Thumb of 2016-12-08/Crackle/70d819
The label on this large plant said Peach Magic but I have been assured it's not that. Still a pretty colour and it flowers very nicely with lots of buds.

And last but not least is Slightly Sassy, again from Steve, This is another fragrant epi, lovely! I felt very blessed to get two fragrant blooms in one day.

I love them all. My Ackermanii surprised me with a bloom this week. I have pics, but will have to upload them later. It sure was strange seeing an epi bloom with all of the Christmas cacti. LOL

Lynne your 'not peach magic' looks very much like King midas.
If it is it will have mostly triangular growth with some prickles.
It's a lovely thing.

Hi Ron, how nice to see you online again. And how lovely your epis look, you always take such smashing photos, they are really inspiring! Smiling

Does anyone have any idea what this noid could be? I bought it as Prof Ebert, but it's definitely not that, not even close. I already have a large NOID plant of this so I was not happy when my much anticipated new Prof Ebert flowered and I got this instead:

Thumb of 2016-12-09/Crackle/fb6163
(Really sorry the picture is so blurry). I am only posting it so I can ask if anyone knows of an epi that has a yellow bud, then opens almost white (or a REALLY REALLY pale pink) with yellowish back petals (15cm) and then changes to a more definite pale pink over the next day or so with darker yellow back petals. And is highly fragrant! NB it has spiny triangular growth.

These pics are of the bigger plant last year, day 2 and the bloom is turning much darker pink with almost bronze back petals, then ends up clearly pink and bronze, completely not how it started out.

Thanks for your comments Lynne, I have uploaded two photos, which may be for consideration of your mystery plant. They are both exactly the same breeding,a better one is Beyond Belief ,and also so, Autumn Pink, I am fairly sure this last two are also the same cross. My two submissions are, Aviana,or it may be Aviano ,photo taken 2011,it is not going to bloom this year, the second one is Jovial which is one of my favorites, photo taken 2013.I have many plants of Jovial as I love it so much. The colour can vary from season to season, this photo was when it showed its best colour in my opinion. There is one plant of this which should be out tomorrow morning.Growth on both can vary, from flat to triangular.Cheers R
