Great SSG, I'll put your name on the division I made today of the Autumn Daphne. Tell me more about your hanging trough as I might have something else that would work... FYI, the Autumn Daphne can be kept as a house plant.

I love 'Daphne' sedum! I need to move a couple of my sedum this spring as the spot they are in is getting shaded out. Glare

That's interesting! It can survive indoors? I didn't think sedums liked being indoors.

My trough container looks like this and hangs on a white picket fence: http://i00.i.aliimg.com/img/pb...

I've had annual flowers in it, but I'd prefer something perennial that doesn't mind restricted roots or require frequent watering.

Something like this: http://img1.sunset.timeinc.net...

but with hardy succulents.

LOL Maybe you need a 'trough', too! Mine does ok in a lot less than full sun. I love its symmetry and how the leaves get pink on the edges when it gets cold, I grow mine in containers so I can relocate if need be.

Jill, Teeny Tiny sounds neat!

SSG, I believe it is @Sallyg that has some ginormous Black and Blue Salvia tubers! Maybe she can spare one!

Mariposa, I'll add "Teeny Tiny" (the name SallyG gave it) to my swap list as soon as it's up and I get some pots going. You've never seen a smaller-leafed sedum. Perfect for fairy gardens!

To make plants available for trading once you've entered them onto your "primary swap list," remember that you have to click the check mark to turn it green, AND you have to enter a quantity ("offers available").

I just jumped on some of SSG's purple alyssum seedlings -- thanks!

Just a note of explanation... much of what I've put on my list so far is you-dig or you-pull. I don't mean to be ungenerous. If I can manage it, I'll have those things potted up by swap day, or possibly dug and bagged (works fine for tough plants). But I'm limited in the digging I can do, so putting some things as "dig your own" lets me add more items to my offerings. It's an advantage of hosting! Smiling

SSG, I'll check the front bed tomorrow for golden bleeding hearts, assuming you mean corydalis... they should be coming up now, but it's pretty jammed with daffs out there at the moment, so they may be sprouting under the radar.

I just placed my first trade by calling "dibs" on one of SSG's purple alyssum offerings!

I think there are several people who have started making primary swap lists (with the seed swap tool) but are missing from the trade list for this swap... Remember to click on your primary list and click the check-marks to the left of each plant to "enable" that entry for our swap. Smiling

Jill, SSG may have been referring to the golden foliage bleeding heat DIcentra spectabilis 'Gold Heart' which some local members have. See: Bleeding Heart (Lamprocapnos spectabilis 'Gold Heart')

Thank you for the Latin name, David!

Yes, I was looking for the golden foliage bleeding heart, Dicentra. Corydalis don't live very long for me. Shrug! One season tops!

Sally, would like to try a Black and Blue salvia again, too. How did your overwintering tubers in basement work out? (Perhaps too soon to tell?)

Lots of good info on the Agastache and Salvia Forum here

That's a really popular forum! It's interesting how certain websites have specific groups that are more active than others. I wish the tree forum here was more active. Shrug!

That picture of a hummingbird drinking from a Black and Blue salvia is FANTASTIC!

I'll be planting mine right next to the new crocosmia I'm picking up from Yehudith. I hope the hummingbirds like this grouping as much as they like beebalm.

MariposaMaid, I will bring several pots of B and B. The tubers that I stored look mummified so I tossed them. But I had just put them in a paper bag, no effort so I can't blame them. B and B has been growing great against a heated house, facing south; next is to see if they do as well against the south wall of an unheated garage. They are sprawly and brittle, so I am very happy to give them a new location NOT hanging over the sidewalk.
Plant it and they will come.

SSG, I think that forum benefits alot from Kermit @FBTS who actually raises and grows over 400 salvias/ agastaches

Here's the hyperlink to Flowers By The Sea, so can just click onto it. http://www.fbts.com/

I bought my first Black and Blue because a hummer was visiting it at the nursery where I was shopping!

Thanks Sally. Is that where your new Butterfly garden will be? Please try one of my 'Blue Fortune' or other agastaches. The Silver Spotted Skippers couldn't get enough of it! Phlox 'Jeana' is great, too and no mildew!

@5601Lisa I'm honored that you used one of your first 'dibs' to claim my "Charming Array of Plants' on the Swap tool. ! Unfortunately, that listing was only an experiment to see how much I could fit into one of the columns and not a real offering.

I do have a charming array of plants that I either have already listed or...What plants might you be interested in? I have some plants just breaking dormancy that might suit your garden and style.

In the meantime, please use your 'dibs' to claim another (real) plant!

Sorry for the mixup, SSG... Donner-Sally and I were just talking about the Corydalis the other day, which a lot of folks seem to call "yellow bleeding heart." I think it lives just one season for me, too, as it never seems to be in quite the same place twice... but it self-sows, some years prolifically, other years just a couple of plants, enough to keep it going in my front bed for quite a while now!

I wish my corydalis would self-sow for me! The gold-leafed variety is so pretty, too. Is donner able to make it to the swap this spring? Just to hang out?

I'm not sure if we'll see Donner. It'll depend in part on whether she's heading right into radiation, and she won't know that until the post-op path report. She's having surgery this week (extra prayers welcome!), so she should be recovered enough by then to hang out. I saw her on Wednesday, and she's doing great, in good spirits and getting some energy back. I think she's decided to forgo the private forum for keeping in touch (she didn't want to keep up with a lot of discussion in this forum, but it's OK for me to post an update like this), in hopes that she'll soon have her treatment behind her.
