I got a computer.
Then I got one dog, another dog, and a cat.
Today, as I am cleaning/packing/discarding/donating preparing to move...I have finally made a path to the old dusty television sitting on a stand with a DVD player and a VCR player. On a whim I decided to push some buttons. I know the television channels won't work but what about the DVD player?
Lights came on, whirring noise, and Inserted a DVD and it started playing.
Why am I posting this on a pet chat thread you ask?
Well, have you ever seen three pets who have NEVER in their life seen a movie on a television?
All three of them were staring, running in circles, standing on hind feet - yes, even Jack did this - to see the magic box.

I'm just going to relate something a dog trainer of many, many, many years said to me when I was trying to pick a breed (which ultimately ended up to be Border Terrier aka Pearl). Take it for whatever you take it for.
He said, "If you want to be really, super happy with your dog; get the dumbest dog from the dumbest breed you can find."
I swear that's exactly what he said. I will not tell you what breed he stated that is because it will hurt people's feelings on here.
I did not take his advice.
I don't agree with his advice.
While smart dogs have their challenges; I would rather have a smart dog & deal with that than to have a dumb-dumb-dumb and deal with the inability of it to learn.

He sounds like he might be one of those people who just don't care to devote much effort to raising a great companion dog...and friend.

He had a super reputation as a dog trainer. People had problem dogs & he fixed them.
Personally, I think there are very, very few dogs that are actually dumb although I will admit I have run across a couple during the course of my lifetime. I think that there are ones who are labeled dumb but it is in fact because they have never been taught or haven't been taught correctly.
