We went to Seasons 52 last night for my husband's birthday. I had the Chilean sea bass which is great, and a spinach salad with caramelized pear and Gorgonzola and walnuts with sherry vinaigrette. It was excellent!

It sounds great!

Tonight we are having a pasta al dente that we will eat hot but it really is great left over. The sauce is oil and garlic based ..fresh tomato, broccoli and mushrooms < those two are cooked> and a bit of tarragon...and of course fresh shaved parm.

Antipasto with the usual fixings

Cheesecake

And I am not sure what else ..we are going to Doris's in Fort Lauderdale...big Italian supermarket ...and maybe something g else will strike the eye.... my sis is leaning toward small link sausage with cheese in its innards! I think those cook too dry...sounds better than the fat sweet but in reality are not.

Happy New Year! We started with oysters, done two ways: raw on the half shell with a vinegar dressing, and quickly baked finished with a spicy butter sauce. Then a mixed green salad, aside a the wonderful whole lobster entrée with melted lemon butter for dipping, and French fries on a shared platter. Cigars and continued wine for dessert. Very tasty and quite fun, especially considering that we didn't find the proper lobster tools and took to the pliers for cracking...a touch of the butch with the elegant. Pretty fitting for the both of us. Rolling on the floor laughing

Ate lunch at a chicken place about an hour from us. Wasn't too impressed. They used no seasonings, not even salt and pepper. So it was very bland. I had a small pizza for dinner. Tasted much better!! Hilarious!

We were supposed to go to friend's house tonight, as is our norm on New Year's Eve. Friend got sick, so we're just here and boring.

Had a busy day. We went to the gym this morning, then to McDonald's for lunch. Came home and showered, then went shopping/ returning/ exchanging Christmas gifts. Last stop was at Trader Joe's for a few things. We brought the groceries home and put away, then went out to eat yet again. We went to an Asian Fusion place which was good, but salty.

After such a busy day, I'm perfectly content to be at home tonight. Happy New Years everyone.

Happy New Year to all! I tip my hat to you.

We aren't much for celibrating so just a quiet night here keeping the dogs calm from all the dang fireworks. Went out for dinner and had mussels, clams and shrimp in a white garlic sauce. Was delicious.

Happy New Year!

Watched the NYC Ball drop
Glad I was not there! Brrrr

Had early-ish dinner (for New Year holiday) with family and neighbors

Fireworks at midnight = babysitting nieces dogs who are peeing from the noise.

I put potatoes on to boil just now. Will be having them with meatballs when they are done. I know it might sound weird but it is a favorite meal for me.

That's not weird at all Rita Thumbs up

I brought home some sauteed broccoli in a butter garlic sauce from the restaurant last night, mixed it with some pasta and a squeeze of lemon, along with a hearts of romaine and spinach salad. Pretty good Thumbs up

Rosemary seasoned roast lamb with red wine sauce, wild rice pilaf, fresh green beans with lemon and butter, little gem squash with butter and brown sugar. First time I tried that squash and found it kind of bitter so I added the brown sugar to sweeten it up.

Margaret, your views are beautiful!

Rita, how do you fix your meatballs and potatoes? Are they mixed? Are the meatballs in a spaghetti sauce or??? Sounds easy, that's what piques my interest. Smiling

Tonight we had Caprese salad, roasted chicken, baked sweet potatoes, and roasted balsalmic brussels sprouts. I bought it all at Trader Joe's yesterday. The chicken was already spatchocked and seasoned with lemon and rosemary so very easy and tasty. With it a bottle of Zinfandel.

We took down our Christmas tree today and have gotten most of the JUNK put away. (tree, ornaments, house decorations). We had been at it for hours so the partially prepared dinner was nice. I'm pooped.
