I'm thankful that we're here, living & breathing
I'm also thankful that when I went to the Seniors Outreach yesterday (I was advised to, that they may help), that they found we are not getting enough of our pension, and should get a healthy back pay for 11 months worth! I knew we didn't have much $$, but apparently the Gov't says it's a hardship and they want to straighten this out right away! They're sending us a form in the mail, and the Seniors Outreach rep will help us fill it out next Thurs. It means we'll get dental & optical (I need dental work desperately before my knee surgery next month, and we both wear glasses, plus Bob's dentures relined? Not sure, but it would help if they'll do it, 100%!)
Things are looking up!!

Very thankful to a very great friend that came over and helped me carry the bagged leaves I had collected at the curb on Monday. I had them all here in the sideyard and I needed to literally carry them upstairs to my backyard so I could mulch the garden beds back there. I would still be carrying them now but my friend came over and helped me so it got done quickly. So nice to have such a great friend willing to pitch in and help.

for good friends! Not only does it make the job lighter, but the conversation makes it more fun

I'm thankful we will possibly getting snow.

I know. It sounds wrong, but we do need snow cover to go into winter with. No doubt it will melt with the wacky weather we've had, but winter might as well just get here so I feel like baking sugar cookies.

no more snow here, please!! We don't have much (maybe a couple of inches in places), but it's cold! (and going to get colder brrrrrrr)

Today I am thankful for my daughter-in-law, who is more like a daughter. Just got off the phone with her and looked at the clock and realized we had been talking almost two hours! In spite of the fact that last year she suffered a heart attack and this year has gone through a long bout with shingles she is so upbeat it is a joy talking to her.

There is a shingles shot available. Ask your doctor. My doctor didn't think of it but I got after I asked him about it. Be proactive. Shingles is horrible. Avoid it if you can. katie

Both DH and I have had a shingles shot and hope we never have to deal with it.

I'm thankful to have a place where I can let off steam when I"m having a rough day. katie

My friend gave me a really nice pair of fancy pretty boat shoe type mocs because her friend gave her a ton of stuff from her closet (hardly used) and the shoes are too small to fit her or her daughters. But fit me great.

I love free hand me downs, happy to have them and the price is right.
