Hi, Gita. Is there white space to the right of the boxes where you type your posts in?

While you're inside the thread that you want to watch, scroll to the very top of that page. At the top of the white space on the right hand side, there should be a watch/unwatch link. Click to change that thread from watch to unwatch and back again.

Isn't there a watch/unwatch link on the right, just below the last post in the forum? There is on my screen.

The most important tip I have is to go Customize your Homepage. Then find the little bar somewhere in those boxes that says Watcher Notifications. Click and drag that into the box Row 2 Column 1, right under those words. If you can do that, your homepage will show watched threads very close to the top where you're used to them.
Plant it and they will come.

Yes, it is there as well, David! Thumbs up

I really like that we can customize now. I put the 'inspirational quote' on the top right hand side, where it is big and pretty, and my watched threads and forums on the top left hand side. I do occasionally scroll down further than that! Hilarious!

That's the best arrangement I have seen so far- it fits nicely.
I'm sad to see though, as soon as I set mine, that Sharon Brown passed away. I knew her a bit from the writers group, quilting, and general chat. She was such an interesting, talented woman

Life is "mind over matter". If I d
Sharon Brown and I corresponded for years! Her Articles were a joy to read.
Such wonderful reminiscent tales from her childhood!
Her trips up the hill to collect herbs--with Aunt Bett keeping her straight.
Tales of her growing up, dying her clothes in natural plant dyes, driving her mother crazy. Never missed reading one of her stories. I bet you can go to DG and look her up and read the stories she wrote--for years!

I had a hardback book (I had ordered years ago) that just sat and sat on my shelf. Sharon was so "into" medicinal herbs and all their uses for centuries.
I decided to mail this book to her. Sharon was soooo grateful. She once wrote that she did not realize how much she needed a book like that.
In her DG stories she wrote--she often gave me credit, and thanked me, for giving her this book.
Her tales and stories should be made into a book. She was also a very talented artist...did beautiful paintings...may she rest in peace. Gita

Remember this painting of hers? How many women do you see in it???

Sally, that's just what I did.

In Row 2, Column 1 I put "Watcher Notifications"

In Row 2, Column 1, I put "Forums List" (forums I'm watching)

I usually have a fair number of watched threads on that first list, so in Row 2, column 2, I put all the article/idea items: inspirational stuff, primary feature, secondary features, recent ideas, fun random idea

I ended up making my own set of rows & columns so I had the number of columns I wanted in each row. My Row 3 has three columns, with "recent threads" and "recent acorn tips" (which often lead me to interesting things) balancing out my list of watched forums in the first column.

Some items I moved off my dashboard altogether, as they're not particularly useful to me (plant performance reports, popular pages). I do like being able to display all the pretty photos where I can enjoy them!

I hadn't thought of getting rid of unwanted things.
Ok somehow I got my watched Forums in column 2 number two. This looks nice. But I cannot explain why it is there. My Row 2 column 2 box says Inspirational and under it Announcements and News, so I guess that qualifies.
Plant it and they will come.

That's strange, Sally... I wonder what's going on?

I have:

Row 2, Column 1
--Watcher Notifications
--Forums List

Row 2, Column 2
--Inspirational Stuff

I ended up using all the items that were available, but I put things like 'plant reports' at the very bottom.

My forums list is weird because it will tell me I have a 'new' item, but if I click on the forum it usually turns out that I have already read all the new items through the 'watcher notifications'! Glare

I was a bit overwhelmed by all the post I've missed, so on many threads I've skipped to the end, rather than try to read through them all. Being computerless for 2 weeks was both a challenge as well as a blessing. Hilarious!

I don't blame you for skipping to the end, Ric--I'd probably do the same! Glad to have you back! Thumbs up
I think it would be very hard for me to go without my computer for 2 weeks!

Walked the dog today at the marsh which heads the Severn River. The water was the lowest I've ever seen, low tide or blown out by the wind, or both. Great weather for soaring birds, we think we saw and heard a bald eagle, and other big ones. In the pic here a great blue heron is on the far shore in the distance and a white bird in the middle. The low water exposed so much mud, it had a barnyard stink at times, and so did Addy when her muddy feet got in the van Sticking tongue out

This afternoon we went to the movies and saw Sully. Really nice movie, well done.We had almost the whole place to ourselves, everyone is watching football on Sunday and the home team Ravens were playing.
Paid 12 dollars for the two of us to get in, and 13 dollars for a bag of popcorn and one soda Rolling on the floor laughing D'Oh!

I heard Sully was really good!

I spent the afternoon on Katie's 15th birthday 'hang-out' at the mall. 20 girls there. I stayed through drop off and then met Katie and a select sleepover few back at Noodles and Company 2 hours later. Enjoyed a bowl of Bangkok Curry while the 4 of them ate and socialized at a nearby table. In a fit of childhood nostalgia that I see among them right now, they watched old Barbie movies till late and seemed to enjoy a lot of memories.

Glad to be able to enjoy a federal holiday today!

Ric, thinking we need to hear more about your trip please!

LOL @ eau de low tide -- all those great anaerobic bacteria at work!

Love that there's enough breeze to keep the mosquitoes at bay, too. We set up our new tent out back on Sunday (partly to check that it came with all its pieces-parts, partly to be sure we learned how to do it!). Joyanna and I lounged out there, between bouts of gardening.

We got a 10x12 Coleman dome style, more than enough room even if Joyanna brings a friend... wimps that we are anymore, we wanted space for aerobeds! Queen and twin fit nicely, plenty of room for a dog at the foot... Whistling not that I'm going to win that one any time soon. Whistling

It's definitely a 3-season tent, but I love that nearly all the tent is mesh, from about 2 feet up on 3 sides, plus a big door (can be open, screened, or covered) on the 4th side. The rain fly goes over with coverage to spare, but ventilation should still be excellent, and on clear nights maybe I can convince be-prepared DH to leave the rainfly off for stargazing...
