Sounds creepy - is this something that would keep me awake with its horror??

Well, it's not a horror movie, although there is some blood. I don't think it's particularly gory, but there is definitely violence.

To me, it's "creepy" because it portrays a dark side of human nature. And Jake Gyllenhaal is so good at playing someone who lacks empathy and is all about advancing his own agenda. His face... he maintains this wide-eyed, non-blinking look throughout the movie. His handsome features completely disappear, even without special effects or makeup.

The movie is tense. It's tightly edited and gripping from beginning to end. I highly recommend it, but it's not a "fun" movie! It's something that makes you think. When certain things happen in the media, I often think back to this movie.

I watched it via Netflix ..

I can say there was never a dull moment ... you are totally 'engaged' throughout the complete film.

I haven't watched Lucifer yet. There's just so much good scifi and so little time! Big Grin

Tonight is the season finale of The Expanse, which is on the SyFy network. It's an epic drama with a deep mythology, kind of like Battle Star Galactica.

It's based on a series of books (I've read one of them), so the story is dense and it's hard to keep track of all of the characters at first. You have to really pay attention, especially if you're bad at remembering names like I am. Sticking tongue out

Aww, I would have loved to see that, if it is like BSG! Too bad, I don't have Syfy network Sad I still have to watch Heroes Reborn too! Thankfully this one is on the free on demand.

Finally watched X-files and Lucifer..as always loved it!! At first I was getting frustrated, for some reason ATT uverse does not have the episodes uploaded on free on demand..they did it the first time, don't know what's wrong with them! Finally got around it..through the Fox app with Xbox! Big Grin

We watched Nightcrawler last night, since it was mentioned in this thread...indeed..thought provoking, not the feel good movie, but it did keep me engaged to the end of the movie.

Do you remember the San Bernardino shootings a few months back? Reporters pressured the couple's landlord into opening up the their apartment and a gaggle of reporters stormed in, filming everything from the baby's crib to the grandmother's social security card. I immediately thought of Nightcrawler.

Tarev, I think FOX.com uploads their shows online the morning day after they air, but the downside is you have to watch it on a computer monitor.

SS .. Night crawler territory for sure !!

Years ago I watched a movie called .. I think .. 'THE CROWD' .. very similar, but with a different twist ..
Just looked it up .. that's not the name Rolling my eyes.
Anyway .. it was bordering on sci fi .. there would be an accident (serious) and a crowd would appear .. but no one could see them but the people who had been injured ..
NOW I'm on a mission, unless someone else can remember seeing it, and, the title ?

There is a Ray Bradbury episode that sounds like what you're describing.

Watched ' SURVIVOR' (the movie) last night ,.. Pierce Brosnan, Dylan McDermott, Milla Jovovich ...
Good flick .. Brosnan did a good job of playing the part of a cold hearted sniper ..

I'd give it an 8 !
