Same here Bob, should have been either ghosts or vampires, the twist with both was odd to me. The acting is always good the story was just odd. I have been a fan of Jessica Lange from the beginning, she's good!

I finally binge-watched the full series of The Night Manager that I had recorded in the spring. Don't know why it took me so long, it was excellent. Tom Hiddleston and Hugh Laurie were both great, as were all the cast actually. Well worth watching!
I enjoyed The Age of Adeline as well, Tarev.

There have been many versions of the Sherlock Holmes tales on TV and screen. I always liked what I considered the classic one to be the best: Basil Rathbone, Nigel Bruce starting in 1939. I just started watching another version and it might have the potential of knocking down the champ. Jeremy Brett starting in 1984. Anyone here seen it? Liked it? Gene

@NJBob
I was a St Louis Rams fan with Green Bay number 2 after the Rams got their championship. Hoped they could put something back together. Their coaching just got worse after that. By the time they aired Bradford I was solidly in the Green Bay box and reside there now pretty confidently cozy.I really enjoy NFL games (even if my team isn't featured; when they are, you'd need a bulldozer to move from the couch).

I saw a brief trailer for the return of Gotham.

It must be, but sadly, it will go from an odd crime drama to live action cartoon; it was actually far better than expected to this point.

Regular Gardener Review saw Mechanic Resurrection with Jason Statham, Jessica Alba, Tommy Lee Jones, rated R for violence. 3 1/2 flowers out of 5. Interesting story of creative ways how to take someone out, lots of action, explosions and overtop characters. Movie soundtrack at times had a Jame Bond sound.

Gene,
I loved Jeremy Brett! More than Basil. I also have a few books I should sit down and read someday.

Bob,
The Freak Show was the last one I watched. I can't remember if I started and sdidn't finish Coven. I was just slowly disappointed by them all.

Last night I watched an old movie ''Lady in White." I forgot how good it was.

To those of you who go to movie theaters, do any of your theaters have the new power reclining seats?

Our theater here does and it costs an extra two to three buck in a theater that is higher that average in price already.

They are nice and if the movie is boring it is easy to go to sleep but with the improved seating most theaters already have nowadays, it surprises me if they get enough patrons using them to not lose money.

I am a person who much, much prefers to see movies in a theater.

Especially that now with our thin flat screen TV is seems captions are no longer possible and I cannot get the menu screen to come up on it.
It just says press menu and nothing else happens.

I cannot remember the last time I went to a theatre to see a movie. I'll bet more than 20 years? Feet sticking to the floor, listening to other people talk about the movie, listening to other people munching popcorn, high priced tickets. No thanks! Gene

LOL.
Feet sticking to the floor I remember that from forty years ago but at least around here that is long gone.
Where grew up if you annoyed people in the theater and did not shut up you were kicked out, without exception.
No one and I mean no one/ messed with the dude who ran the theater.

Prices were not bad here till the theater was sold to a new concern.
We sometimes drive twenty or so miles to other theaters because of prices here.
Why prices are so high here does not make sense but they get away with it.
Until the chain was sold there was a buck and then two bucks and then a buck theater again.
Must be hurting a bit though as during the summer there is a five dollar day, all day .

We have a theater with the new reclining seats, not extra but you have to buy ahead and reserve them...I'm not a movie theater fan but we take the grandkids once in a while. Felt weird reclining in a strange place Whistling the kids love it.

RpR, yes our local cinema has already upgraded to the power reclining seats a couple of years ago. We love it, and we get to choose our seats ahead of time. We don't have to pay extra for it. So if it is really that type of movie that is better seen on big screen we go for it. Big Grin

But at home I can start and stop the movie anytime I like. Rewind a couple of times to figure what they said, etc. Gene

Our theater has the reclining seats, 5.00 on Tuesdays plus free popcorn! I would rather see a movie in the theatre.

We have nice reclining leather seats, No unaccompanied kids under 16 after 6 pm rule, $1 hot dogs and a respectable local crowd, though sometimes I wonder why they don't take their trash out with them? 14 big screens and dn SDX Screen for the biggies. Beer and mixed drinks sold to boot! All this for $6.50 a seat! They have a Rewards program and we get free tickets often through it.

Just got back from seeing Sully. I didn't want to see it but I love Tom Hanks and Clint Eastwood movies. Wonderful movie. NICELY done!! Stay through the beginning credits for some other featurettes.
