I lost Strozzapreti early last year. I decided not to replace that one at least for awhile. Some irises are slow growers/increasers here and I think I am going to give up on a few of them.

Strozzapreti had a hard start here, Bonnie. I ordered it and Terra del Fuoco at the same time. When they came in, they were mis-identified -- each as the other. Took me a couple of years to learn that. Then they each were not happy with where they were planted -- so they struggled to survive, especially the year that Iris Lane took so much damage. About the time that I learned their accurate identity, I moved them in Iris Lane to locations that had more sun. And this year they rewarded me with a profusion of blooms. Both of them.

So -- you might consider giving Strozz another try. It's really worth it, when it decides that its happy!!
