My Slovak Prince never gets the great gold rim. I saw another one down here today and it had the same problem. Wonder if the climate is the culprit?

My guess would be soil.

The gold rim is what makes it, Leslie. Wonder why you don't get that?

Nice clumps! I think you showed us two pictures of Pirate Ahoy, not Reckless Abandon.

It's always interesting to see pictures of irises I sent to people and how different sometimes the colors look.

I think that is interesting too Tom. I have often thought we should sort of 'track' an iris as it travels through out group from one side of this country to the other. Sort of like the sisterhood of the traveling pants but instead it would be the enablerhood of the traveling rhizome. The same iris, because it is from the same plant, living in all kinds of soils and climates and the differences it exhibits in each different garden. And.... just for fun too.
