Oh, it is going @gemini_sage. It has your name all over it Neal...consider it your birthday gift. How much of it do you want? I have a bunch so you can have an instant clump if you would like.

I used to have 'Batik' many years ago, but decided it was ugly. Maybe not as ugly as 'Ziggy' was... at least for my taste... but ugly enough. I guess I just don't like broken colors.

Beautiful blue on that 'Baja Blue', Sue, but I'm pressed to figure out spaces for the incoming as it is...

Good heavens!! I just discovered this thread, and there's not a single one I don't like!! Since I'm new to this, I have a grand total of 2 irises I bought from a local nursery. I don't want to jump in front of any established folk here, but when the time comes, I'd drool for each and every one mentioned here. I hope everyone will let us all know when you have some available!

I'm not a fan of broken color, but Bewildabeast is interesting. Not asking for it, just saying.

I am not sure what is a broken color or not. Here is one that bloomed in my garden but we have had a rough storm. I am using the database pic.

Does not look like broken color to me, just veining. BC has no 2 flowers in the same exact pattern.

Lily I got rid of moles by going to a local barber and spread human hair around the yard and mowed it in gone no muss no fuss

I've marked this thread to "watch". Not that I want to cull any of my iris's but I'm having a hard time finding homes for the ones I have when it's time to thin them out. I'm running out of family and friends that want any more. Two years ago I gave (close to 400 rhizomes) to a local nursery that recently started selling iris. Some were decent size, some were small because many of the iris patches were well beyond time to divide. If I recall, one patch had 66 rhizomes in it. Iris's seem to love the soil here.

I have never shipped any but I'm willing to give it a try. Do most of you just ask for payment to cover the shipping? I'm thinking that is what I'd do especially since it would be my first time. I'd ask for feed back so I could learn what I did right and what/how I could improve.

What month is the best time to dig and ship? I usually dig the end of July up until the end August...would that be a good time to ship for ALL zones? I'm in zone 5a.

yes you should ask for shipping costs. July and Aug is perfect for most places. Sep is probably ok for warmer zones (7,8) as their winter is a little later coming on. How many varieties will you offer?

Take a look at my "Plant List" here at ATP to see what I have, I think around 70 varieties. I'll take a walk through the gardens this afternoon and make a list of what I want to decrease and post later. Many of my patches are planted in circles. I want to dig out half the circles on some, leaving a half circle. I figure that way they will get more air circulation as well as more sun.

Any information as to the steps needed "from soil to shipping package" will be helpful. Such as washing, trimming, drying, what type of box/packing to use, best day of the week to ship, how do you estimate shipping, anything else I need to know.

Thanks
