I thought Buttered Popcorn was rust resistant?

Beautiful blooms and pictures, you guys! I am super jealous- I don't have any ready to pop out and say hello just yet, but it shouldn't be too long.

Buttered Popcorn is rated as rust resistant, but last year and this year it was one of the worst for rust in my garden. I have a beautiful bloom on in this morning, but not a single leaf left on the plant. It may look like some leaves in the photo, but those are on the plant next to it.


Certainly to me, two of the most beautiful blooms in the garden so far opened this morning on South Sea Enchantment:

This is a pathetic second bloom on Smoky Mountain Autumn. They just have not been able to open.
