Ugh... so close. I feel all excited, nervous, anxious. I hope I'm not the only one who completely geeks-out over these swaps.

Erica, I love these swaps. I'm the exact same way you are. I still get that excitement like I did my very first swap. Smiling

Can we have a raffle for guessing the real time?

My bet is on 7 PM Pacific Time.

GMT minus 5, so "Midnight minus 5" is 7.

But is "Midnight GMT" the FIRST minute of the day or the last minute?
7 PM today, or tomorrow?

I'm going to have to dust off my home PC and check in from there to see when the floodgates open.

(Edited to say: "Or maybe it's GMT minus 7, and hence 5 pm.")

The seed swap home page says:

>> The current time on Garden.org is Sep 2, 2016 11:50 PM.
and
>> Trading Begins: September 3, 2016

If true, that means it will be Sept 3, 00:01 in Greenwich in around ten minutes.

Clearly, even if I am detail oriented, the simpler parts of math still escape me.
If we had a quadratic equation defining when we start, I could knock that out and have a firm answer promptly.

But counting on my fingers ... that is beyond my powers. I have to fall back on the scientific method.
I'll wait 10-11 minutes, then check the Seed Swap Home page. When it changes to "Trading has begun", I'll make my bids.

THEN come back here and post again.

First night bidding: Well, THAT was EXCITING!

So Im not sure how it tells you if you win more tickets, but I was able to get 5 items, due to mine being taken. How many "solds" does it take to get another ticket?

Im THRILLED I got my 3 top picks, and 2 more of my most wanted!

Gonna be hard to wait another 23 hours, 55 mins!!! LOL!

Congrats everyone! This was great!

Val - It is hard to wait so long, lol. Now you see why I love this swap. It's actually pretty fun. And thank you for the pink veronica. I loved how my sunny border blue turned out this year and the addition is going to be beautiful with my Frosted Velvet coral bells.

Erica - I'm squealing over here too. I was really worried about your lily of the niles. I had gotten seed from you last year. I ws'd them. They came around by May. By june I could plant them. By July, the a/c man trampled them to death! I was really hoping I'd be able to get more from you this year. Thanks girl! And I'm also tickled with the Amish Paste. I had seed this year that never sprouted. Not due to the seed collector, just weather this year. So I'm really looking forward to these next year. Do you grow these yourself?

TinaJ - I have been wanting a pink rain lily for the last year. I really wanted that so much and just knew I was going to miss it. Thanks!

Elena - I had ordered a Mai Tai geum from bluestonne this year. 2 of them. Both arrived half dead. Both died within 3 days I believe. Thanks for the replacement. Smiling

@Dave, thank you again for this seed-swap-tool!

Something that would have taken 20-30 minutes in another swap, and left me still wondering whether I had lost one or more trades in my notes,

Thumb of 2016-09-03/RickCorey/cfe529

only took about five seconds with your tool, and I know they won't get lost, and I can print out my "Send" and "receive" lists almost directly from this website.

And any seeds that don't get taken in this swap will still be listed and ready for the next swap.

Great tool! Thank you! I hope you promote it to new NGA members. (I do!)

Does anyone have a system to keep track of their wishlist?

5 star my first to bid on.....usually ones I really want or there is only 1 offer.
4 star are offers that have 2 packs left
3 star are offers that have 3 packs left
2 star are offers that have 4+ packs left or lower on my must have list.
1 star is what I bid on so I can keep track. I move what I bid on lower on the list so they're not blocking other must haves!!!

With the multiple looks to be 3 I will make sure to have double that for my 5 star list but my 4 star list is right after in case they get taken and I can click away Whistling Just reorganized my list for tomorrow evening Hilarious! and now my husband and I can go eat food Rolling on the floor laughing

Cheryl,

I usually star all the 1 offer trades first, then 4 star my faves that have 2 or more offers. That way if something gets taken of 1 offers, I can just keep going down my list. After we do the bidding, I destar all the ones I've gotten. Takes it off the list so I don't have to worry about it tomorrow when bidding begins.

I'm cracking up right now reading this because I could say the exact same thing. My husband probably things I've gone mad! Hilarious! Rolling on the floor laughing But really, I'm in the same boat...

I can't seem to forget the quadratic formula jingle that my math teacher taught me (to the tune of 'pop goes the weasel') and could figure out a variable with it if you asked me to... But I clearly couldn't even figure out what time the swap started tonight with the time difference. Eesh.
