We used to grow 'Lady Essex' which is another plicata rebloomer. I am sure that Winterberry irises grows them both.

Great blooms Arlyn! Which do you like better? Queen Dorothy? or Earl of Essex?

Robin, nice ones! The name 'Squid Squirt' always makes me smile..

I've got just a few goin' on right now..

Earl of Essex Has the "best" rebloom, as to frequency, and number of stalks / blooms, but the form isn't the best.....blooms tend to crowd each other, and the stalks are usually twisted. "QD" has better form....both flower and stalk....but some of that is due to the lower bud count. There is a *slight* difference in the color tone, between them, with "Earl" being a bit darker , and "Queen" being a bit "bluer" (here, at least). Lady Essex , which Lucy mentioned) is a fairly reliable Re , here, as well, and her bloom....while being "just another purple plic", has a slightly *cleaner* look to the speckled border, decent form, but quite slow to increase. There are several other "purple plics" that Re for me, too. Purple plics" and "yellow selfs" seem to make up about half of the older Re's Hilarious!

I know the feeling Liz.

But!

To my surprise, I looked out over my gardens and found I have two buds on Over And Over. One should bloom any day now. Hurray! Hurray!

Las Vegas and Again and Again don't look like they are even thinking of blooming. Immortality has increases up the ying yang and never deems to re-bloom. The nerve since it is a Durham, NC creation.

Lovely! I'm not really into those very bluish black irises, but that one is a beauty - love the beards! Lovey dubby

Ahh. So jealous. The kids were pretty excited this afternoon. We had some nice big flakes, but it's supposed to warm up a bit...better trick or treating weather hopefully.
