Absolutely -- I start mine in "6-packs" and put them out (usually, anyway), when they're just a few inches tall.

Weedwacker - thanks for that! Didn't know if pea sprouts were "touchy" about being transplanted.

I thought that I would post a few pictures of my garden. I had to wait to get my grandaughter to show me how to move them from my tablet to the computer. The pictures are of (1) Green Beans, (2) Butter Beans, (3)Cucumbers, (4) Squash, (5) Cantelopes and (6) Tomatoes.

The Greens have produced very well, put up a few bads, gave away some, sold a few and ate a lot. The Butter Beans or Lima Beans are loaded with hulls and a few days before being ready to pick. The cucumbers have made about 90 lbs., so far, but are starting to kick into high gear. I've picked 350 lbs. of squash, so far, but they are beginning to slow down. The Cantelopes are a lot bigger and are starting to put on fruit. The tomatoes are looking good. I wish I had a photo of how most of them are loaded. I have just gotten a few of them to eat, so far.

I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I enjoyed raising the plants that are in them.

God bless and have happy gardening.

This must be the year of the weed. Finally, tonight I used Preen in many spots that I just finished weeding this afternoon.

Ha, it is always a year for weeds!!

Today I did plant afew yard long beans on my home made tee pee in the front yard. But yesterday I had planted a 13 foot row of bush beans. Planted 4 kinds there.

Anellino di Trento
Rocquencourt
Red Swan
Drangon Langerie (Drangon Tongue).

I know I thought about those Dragon Tongue beans for quite some time and truthfully still not sure if I will like them. But since I am going crazy planting beans this year, I decided why not. I mean I will never know if I don't try them.

Look at this picture of the seed packet for the Anellino di Trento.

Never seen beans looked like this before. Red streaked and curved like a cooked shrimp. That is why they call them shrimp beans. Hilarious!

And look at these seeds of Dragon's Tongue, just so speckled and pretty.

If nothing else I will have a colorful collection of beans!

Bean row up in the top garden.

Ah ha! I asked you what those seeds were on another thread -- I knew they looked familiar! I haven't grown Dragon's Tongue in quite a while but I liked it a lot when I did grow it. Thumbs up

Holy cow Jim!

I'm attempting to go all seeds this year and I clearly need to up my seedling game. Next year will be grow lights and a much better set up. I got such spindly little things that hardening them off has been taking forever! We'll see if I get anything before winter sets in.

I started a 2nd year asparagus last year in the fall and it came back really well this spring and then we got a very late freeze and it froze the spears. I didn't know that you are supposed to cut down any frozen spears to avoid the plant going dormant again so it went weeks before any new growth. Then when it finally sent up a sprout head, a bunch of birds mistook it for food and pecked it out of the ground. Now I have a net over the garden. That poor asparagus! I hope it can recover.

I hope I like it but I am not sure. However I have so many different types of beans this year that I know I will have lots that I do like. And really it is good to be adventurous and try something new. nodding

Thanks for the good comments on the garden. I love my raised beds. I never intended to wind up with so many. If the sun shines, I'll try to get a picture of one of the loaded tomatoes. I cut a wheel barrow load of foliage off them last week so I could find them as they ripen. I've had a few to eat, but picked a five gallon bucket full this afternoon. By the end of next week, I should be swamped with tomatoes. That particular bed is 75 feet long.

High Gym Girl. Still in Houston? Ever in Norteast Louisiana give me a call.

Good luch with the asparagus bed. I planted a 5x9 foot bed with two year old crowns last year. I had enough to eat and share this year but next year should be great. Down here, mine started coming up the last of January. I cut until the last of April. One of the photos I posted shows the ferns of the asparagus bed.

The garden has produced well this year, because I bought a hive of bees last year. They have paid big dividens in the garden.

Bees might be something I get into. I've been eyeing those flow hives. Lol on things growing in January. Up here, the asparagus didn't sprout until April, and they should've waiting until may to avoid the last freeze. I'm jealous of your weather!

I just placed a seed order from AP Whaley.

I ordered Calima Bush Beans and another of those French Fillet types that I just love. Never seen this one before. Called Nikki.

Mainly I went there to order Peas. I ordered those purple podded Magnolia Blossom ones. And Spring Blush and Sugar Magnolia.

So I have three of the Peace Seed Pea intros coming. Should work out for the fall but who knows, I still might order from Peace Seeds directly.
