Haha not at all. If I wasn't in an apartment I would probably have more than 1 person should. Haha. I have room for 5-8 more then I have to stop until we get into a house again, then it will be carnivore heaven. Rolling on the floor laughing

I got plenty of plants for the time being, now I got red sphagnum moss coming in, pretty excited.

I was a FOOOOOOOOOL to let my green just die off, I only had a handful last year that happened to be attached to a sundew. I propogating a cereal box full and let it die outside like a moron...

Sphagnum moss will be my next purchase. Is it easy to keep growing? Accidents happen. No need to beat yourself up. Just fix mistakes and try again. Smiling

You can kill sphagnum moss? It must have gotten really dry.

Anytime. Smiling

I have some that a California friend gave me when I moved to Reno. It lives on the back wall (shadiest) of my greenhouse and gets watered daily.

As long as the crown of the plant stays above the water line, all is fine.

About a month, Brendan. I found it in a greenhouse of a place that hybridises and sells orchids.

Been raining here, brought out my nepenthes to enjoy some of our cool rains..hope it does not mind the temps, but I will bring it back indoors later, it might just pout when it gets much colder at night. In the meantime letting them have some rain fun!

Now I have some Sarracenias, and they really had a bad summer since I was away for awhile at the height of our dry summer so they really turned crispy dry, but I see some green so I still hope for recovery. Thankful it is raining now, hopefully it will perk up, but I know it is the time of year when they go dormant too, so they will naturally look ratty and ugly, till Spring weather returns. So will just monitor and see if it comes back, anyways I still have to keep it in standing water even in winter. And rainwater is really their preference!

Don't you hate it when stuff like that happens? That's why you need a bog. Smiling At least two will make it.

A word of caution, though... Raise the pots so the crowns are above the water level.

Ah no area for a bog here unfortunately. But will see how it goes next season, if not then I guess I should just concentrate on Nepenthes and Pinguiculas.

That's why I choose the Nepenthes ventricosa 'Red Pitcher' to grow. It is grown much like the average houseplant and is not a bog-grower.

It is my hit and miss thing, got to try if it will work. I have three Nepenthes, so far they do great indoors by our west facing window.
