Tarev, the flowers are backgrounded by the caladiums in the second photo. I kept on waiting for something to bloom forth from those buds but on looking closer I discovered those were the flowers.

It is very easy to grow. I got it from a friend that collected weird plants. He is collecting weird fish this decade, however. At the turn of the century it was dizzy lizzies. I suspect it is going to be chickens next.
The problem is that when you are young your life it is ruined by your parents. When you are older it is ruined by your children.

Have bad news regarding my plants. The pre war (seven stories = 77 apartments) building where I live is having extensive repairs on every floor. Rewiring of most of the apartments has left open holes in the ceilings and walls. Grumbling Complaints of large amounts of rodents running around has affected me also. Doesn't help that the park across the street from me faces the Henry Hudson River and New Jersey.... I imagine with the heat wave, my apartment was on the list that had water! My Carnivorous plants have been dug up and leaves on my other plants have been chewed on. Wondered why all the water in the saucers and containers were so low or gone. I am heartbroken. Will restart my indoor garden again when it cools off in a few months. Sighing! Sighing! Will start shopping for replacements eventually.
Yes, I have traps but they are not working too well.

Which war was that, Ivy, the Revolutionary War?

Just kidding.

I am so sorry for your problems and plant-loses. I cannot even imagine having rodents in my house. I know there are roaches hiding out, but that's about it.

I will help you replace some of what you lost. Start making a list.

Thank you Ken. Won't even think about new plants for a while. Carnivorous plants was my new interest for 2016.
Things happen. Thinking that the sticky substance on the plants to attract insects attracted mice instead. That was not in the plans. Angry The clean up will be easy enough. Just throw the pots and contents out, may have urine on them.
I will be back to this forum.

I hope to have some "interesting" carnivores for you this month, Ivy. You know, I have lots of this and that can be contributed as well.

Will have to look at more thorny or plants with spikes to make it not so appetizing. Do you have any Screw pine that I can set next to the carnivorous plants? The pests did not touch my cactus. Yet..
Will wait to see what you have available. Thank you,

Ivy

I don't grow pine of any sort Ivy.

What I am getting in mid to late July, is the Nepenthes ventricosa aka "Red Pitcher Plant". This plant is grown just like most of my tropical, potted plants (non-epiphytic orchids excluded), so growing them should be easy for me. I am also getting in Fiddle Leaf Ficus seedlings. I have sold every single fiddle leaf seeding I had (approximately 10-12" tall by the time I post them for sale) and have waited six months just to get more.

This pitcher plant might not be what you want, but that's all I will have.

I did not have room for a pitcher plant so I went for smaller plants. Now I have space. The screw pine would not be appetizing to mice but would make a nice barrier with spiky hook like edges and midribs. Dangerous!
Will wait and see what will be on my next shopping list.

Haven't really been posting so here's an update. I have 2 rooted cuttings of nepenthes(variety unknown), 2 different VFT's coming next week and 5 types of drosera seed. Can't wait to get them going. I'll get pictures of all as my VFT's arrive. Smiling

Awesome. I was very excited when I received mine. I'll have a B52 today and I think the other one is a mutt that I'll get later this week(both trades on flytrapcare). Haha. The DC XLs size is awesome.
