I started trying to place my order at 8 a.m. on the dot. It wouldn't go through until 8:03. I know already there will be few if any of the ones that I want remaining by the time my list makes it's turn for processing.

I think next year I will send a check for $100 and save myself the stress! Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

How can you tell whether it's been posted? I'm looking at the site, but I don't see the spreadsheet anywhere. Mine went through, I think, but how can I tell??

Don't get me wrong, I think it is awesome that the sale is going so well. There are just so few hybridizers that I am buying right now that my choices are limited. Of course, those rhizomes are also very limited mostly only 1 available so I knew my chances were not great to begin with.

Maybe at some point a few of them will come up available in the GG program.

Click on the Rhizome Sale banner on the Home Page. There is a link to the spreadsheet it is blue and says Round 1 or this may take you there. https://docs.google.com/spread...
you will probably have to refresh the page to get a current view

Oh, I wouldn't bet that it didn't go through. I suspect that you just haven't been processed yet. Arlyn just said he pushed the button at 8 a.m. and his has not been posted yet.

They are taking the orders in the order they were received and they are probably a hundred or so backed up. I'll bet your order went through and they have not gotten to it yet.

I figured that, but mine went to them directly at 8 a.m. At least one of my selections is shown as sold out. I think I'll save some $$ and just give up. Darn it!

Great, Lucy! If they do record them in the order they receive them, they had more than 100 before 8:01!

That is great for HIPS but really challenging for a buyer. LOL I do not doubt they had that many. This has been talked about, not only on this site which has a great number of viewers, but in every iris club since it was announced and then the information was shared with a lot of garden clubs by those members. Getting it all sorted out by the folks doing the listing, counting, subtracting and notifying is a big job.

Yes! I am sure they did have over 100 before 8:01 a.m. First of all, this is the first time the sale has been done this way. It may need some fine tuning in the future, it may work just fine...time will tell.

There are A LOT of people every year waiting with baited breath for this rhizome sale. This is the biggest sale that I am aware of and everyone is super stoked about it. There are a lot of great irises available, some are quite rare, several people want them. This is really the only fair way to distribute those.

This system is totally automatic as I can see by watching the spreadsheet that there is no preference given to anyone. The people doing the sale, the officers of HIPS and so forth were no where near the first orders processed (and that is only the two or three that I have seen so far). I am certain that there were rhizomes that they wanted that were already sold out.

There is always the second round, several of these people will have gotten what they wanted so there should be a little less competition.

Keep in mind, it is a fundraiser for HIPS. Every attempt is being made to make the process as simple and as fair as possible. This system also gives the purchasers much fresher rhizomes than we have received in the past.

I do like this system much better than in the past. I just whine because I am good at it. I am so very excited that this sale is such an overwhelming success this year!! Bravo to all of those hard working individuals involved. @DaveinPA I suspect you had a hand in this as well. Job well done. Hurray! Hurray! I tip my hat to you. I tip my hat to you.

Oh well, I am disappointed. There was a Hall iris on that list that I didn't even know existed anymore. But hey, I didn't have it before today so I reckon I am gonna survive without it!
