For years the debate has gone on about PMs in the garden. I was amazed to see one eatting a snake 4 times its size.
Google it for videos....

It's like my predatory Cooper's Hawks. Majestic, beautiful, and I love them ... until they swoop down on a bird at my feeders or in my big pine tree and make a meal out of it. Then I hate them. Sad

I agree I agree Tee. Love the look of one though. They just need to leave the birds all within a 1 mile radius of me so I can't see them and all is well with my world. What I ndon't know won't hurt me and after all it is the circle of life. In y head I understand that,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, but...................

Today Lowe's had the best assortment of perennials they've had all year! And very good prices.
Got some Agastache and Russian sage that are huge and mature. Also alot of Mums and pansies.
Ah, Fall is a great time to plant in North Carolina, since it is probably the only rainy time of the entire year.

Pretty, Tamara!
A new Spider 'Medicine Feather' DL opened, in the new bed!! Hurray! It's nothing spectacular, but was happy to see it made it before the frosts.
It's real chilly this morning too.

Hi everyone - I've been in and out so much that I'm not sure which way I'm headed next Blinking but I thought I'd stop by. Love, love, love all the pics you all have been putting up!

I'm currently in Mum heaven. This is Maroon Pride with a NOID:

This is Pat Lehman - she's actually a little pinker than this shows:

Here's Cheerleader - a big time flopper, but such nice, big blooms... and lots of 'em. These aren't completely open, yet.

Thumb of 2011-10-24/sheryl/2ef482

And my Montauk daisies - they flopped too, 'cause I put them in too shady of an area, but they're still blooming, amazingly enough!

Thumb of 2011-10-24/sheryl/b10958

Hope you enjoy!

There was frost Sat. night in the lower parts of town. It was strange to see fog in some spots & not others. The small 'zonal' geranium on the front porch is in good shape overall, but the last stem which was trying to bloom got touched. Did not get any mums this year. they don't last until spring. They have to be planted in the spring to do that.

I tip my hat to you. Thanks! Tee, it would be a sorry world without them, eh?

There's more, believe it or not... I bought in on one of Mamajack's mum co-ops a couple of years ago, and despite some heavy loses of plants I had left in pots, I still have quite a few.

And I gladly supply cuttings, lol....
