we came from here
The thread "Our Orchid blooms in July 2016" in Orchids forum
(this post is a continuation from responses to Ted's beautiful group of blooms)

Yep, my Copper Queen's flowers still look great too, Ted, just like yours. I guess that would be expected since they are siblings. D'Oh!

Love those sweet little graceful flowers, and the name seems so appropriate.

Love those Copper Queens, Ken! That lip. Smiling

Tell me about it, Mike. I am badly hobbled today from an instep injury. I just hope I didn't break a bone in the foot. I can barely walk. Crying

Rth. Psycho Bride 'NN' with 3 blooms on this spike..for some reason the flowers are not held as high over the foliage as in the past.
and my favorite Apopka bargain plant B. Jairak Kiss with 2 spikes..I think it bloomed just 3 months ago..very generous for a $7.00 plant!

Had to get some boxes of plants out, but only managed to do half of what I wanted to ship. Oh well, there is always tomorrow. Crossing Fingers!

Lovely Psycho Bride, Lindsey. Be sure to keep us updated on its progress - I'd like to see how the colors mature on that one. Some yellows get more yellow as they go along, and on some the yellow fades out completely. Here's a shot of the last spike on Renate - almost no yellow left at all.

And yet, Tara's lovely spotty is getting more yellow as it matures. My Yellow Birds do that, too.

Tiny Kiss says thanks! Smiling

Mike and Ken, please do take care of yourself! Looking forwards to Mike's Sharry Baby!

I love Psycho Pride ( great name, but needs to be black with crazy blotches or something... Smiling ) and of course Renate is always pretty!

I guess I didn't realize that I would have multiple flowers going at the same time with this Phrag... And I didn't realize that that the 'Fu Mancu' petals got longer as the flower aged..

Great, isn't it? Yours is lovely!

That is how my Sorcerer's Fire stays forever in bloom nowadays. Those spikes keep spitting out blooms.

It's gorgeous! They had some Paphs with that form and multiple blooms at the show Ted and I both attended, but the cheapest one I saw was $ 50 and that's just more than I'm willing to spend on a plant that I'll likely kill. I might have at least thought about it if it had been a Phrag.

This one was $35.00.. pretty much at the top of my budget..I REALLY wanted one of the bright red ones..but this is pretty enough and a good learning opportunity. Ursula, should I replace the stake with a taller one as the spike goes higher and higher?

It depends on how sturdy the spike is? I have never had to stake the tall Phrags, mine seem ok without it.

My crucifix orchids. I had a white one till recently. But it died. I was quite surprised because I thought you had to run over them with a steamroller to kill them.
