Razor Sharp, which I planted last fall, had its first flower of the season today. It's blooming late, but it's welcome. I like the way it looks with The Dominator reblooms.

I am so pleased that some of my daylilies have enjoyed our recent rains and sent up new bloom stalks. We usually are so hot and dry in August that I am struggling to keep my plants from dying. This is Rahab and brightens up each day it blooms

Here are a few photos of the final blooms of daylily season. It is sad to see the end of the blooms.

Pizza Crust

Border Giant always puts on a big show at the end of the season.

The colour of Seal of Approval was very deep and rich on this cool morning.

Final bloom on Blue Venom. This was new this spring and has bloomed very well for its first year.

A very pretty light lavender daylily, that I bought under the name of Soft Bisque, but it does not appear to have been registered.

Nice image of Jay Farquar. Also love how the cool temp intensified the color on Seal of Approval. I get either the deeper color from the cool temps or watered down color or spots from the heavy dew this time of year. The rain has helped rebloom scapes start to show themselves here too Mary Jane, bloom will go on for a bit longer!

Took a few images tonight while waiting for the frozen pizza to cook....

Albion Moonlight, blooms late for me, I'm pretty sure this is the last one to start blooming in the garden. The blooms are a nice polychrome mix of pale pink, cream and yellow with a heavy crepe texture . Wish it were taller.

Parting the Red Sea, a pretty Sculpted relief bloom on a rebloom scape!

The Dream Society, looking good this evening after a chilly start to the day then high temps and humidity.

Albion Moonlight is very pretty, as are the other two. The Dream Society is a very nice colour combination.

Nice blooms everyone!

Today was LFO on 'December Wedding' and my maybe seedling from 'Sacrament of Healing'. Yesterday (I missed them) there were 2 blooms on the rebloom scape of 'Twist Again'.
Evaluating an iris seedling, hopefully for rebloom

Thanks everyone for your appreciation of the pictures I have posted. I love that I still have blooms although some plants are finished. OK. Here are my offerings for today. All but Boundless Beauty were taken last evening.

Daylily question for the Northern Kentucky gardeners - I have ordered a daylily that will be shipped next week to my house in Iowa, but I can't plant it in Northern Kentucky (just across the river from Cincinnati) until mid October. If I pot it and take it down with me should be it ok to plant that late? She is in Zone 6a. Thanks for any ideas!

Ginny, my Moses Fire was bought spring of 2014 as a double fan. It now has 6 large fans and every fan had a scape. Sorry but I can't tell you the bud count as I cut off all the finished scapes this morning but I am happy with the way it performs. Every flower opens the same color although occasionally a bloom is not double. Blooms are large and held high. It has finished blooming yesterday and there are no rebloom scapes to come. Sad
